Route: Yumoto → Senjogahara → Lake Chuzenji
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
This day trip explores the best of Oku-Nikko’s autumn colors. The hike begins in Yumoto Onsen, passing through the Senjogahara Wetlands—one of Japan’s most scenic highland trails—before ending at Lake Chuzenji. Along the way, you’ll see two famous waterfalls, Yudaki Falls and Ryuzu Falls, surrounded by brilliant red and gold foliage.
After the hike, there will be time to relax at a lakeside café or a quick onsen before returning to Tokyo.
