★About the Book★
In The Divide: A Brief Guide to Global Inequality and Its Solutions, anthropologist Jason Hickel argues that global poverty is not a natural condition but a political problem created and sustained by the global economic system. He challenges the popular "progress narrative" which claims that global inequality is narrowing due to Western aid and development.
This book is a little old now, but I only discovered the author recently and think he is extremely articulate and informative with his explanations that are still so critical with understanding on how the world works.
