When I was 10 years old, I messed up my network settings on the family computer while trying to host a Counter-Strike server. I went through all of the layers of tech support at Microsoft before reaching an engineer who taught me the difference between static and dynamic IP addresses. I learned most of what I know about computers through experimentation, breaking things, and going through the painful process of fixing them. That curiosity has continued to serve me well throughout the years as a software engineer.
