"Einstein’s Magnifying Glass: How Gravitational Lensing Unveils the Secrets of the Universe"

As mass warps the space-time fabric, the alignment of a luminous background with any massive object creates a gravitational lens. Let us discover together what this universal phenomenon can teach us about our galaxy and the evolution of the cosmos.

Speaker info:
After learning about the Universe with various documentaries and his telescope, Dr. Eric Paic (University of Tokyo) studied Astrophysics at EPFL in Switzerland. He was introduced to various aspects of gravitational lensing during a summer internship with Dr. Frederic Courbin and wanted to learn more about it. Eric did his master's and PhD thesis in Dr. Courbin's group and then came to Tokyo to continue his research.
