About us
“People try to show 'Yourself', but what everyone wants to see is 'You'.”
This is what my clown teacher used to say.
The “Yourself” here is the self you want to show. It is the ego, or lie, that wants to be this way, to appear this way, to be thought this way, and so on.
The “Yourself” created in this way hides the “You". If you show it, people will laugh at you.
You don't want to show them your miserable appearance because of your failures, your exposed areas of weakness, or your confused appearance...so you try your best to be strong, fake it, and hide it.
But, if you try to hide it, it is because that kind of “You” is really there.
In other words, that “You” is the truth. In clowning, we show such a “You” to our audience so that they laugh at you. It is not a mocking or ridiculous laugh, but a loving laugh like that of a small child.
If you can be laughed at with love, you can accept, forgive, and love “You” as you are. "I am okay with this!” and you can stand in front of others looking like that.
This workshop is attended by people from all walks of life who work or aspire to work in public.
Actors, dancers, comedians, musicians, singers, magicians, teachers, counselors, etc... It is open to everyone, regardless of profession, race, gender, etc.
Every person has a different clown.
Take a journey to find your own unique clown, which everyone has!

Impro Clown International School 2026 in Tokyo
Location not specified yetApplication is here
For the first time ever, I will hold Clown International School in Japan.
“People try to show "yourself", but what audiences truly want to see is "you".”
— a phrase my clown teacher once told me.
By “yourself,” we often mean the version we want to show:
how we wish to appear, how we want to be perceived, how we want others to think of us.
This is the ego — a kind of lie.
We hide because we’re afraid of being laughed at —
for our failures, our weakness, our confusion, our not-knowing.
But if you try so hard to hide these things, isn’t it because "you" truly exist?
That means they are real. They are truth.
In clown, we show this true "you" to the audience —
not to be mocked, but to be laughed at with love.
The kind of laughter you feel when watching a small child.
When you are laughed at with love, you can accept you, forgive you, and even like you.
You begin to feel: “I am okay just as I am.”
And from that place, you can stand on stage freely.
Everyone carries a different clown inside them.
Let’s go on a journey to discover your clown — the one only you can be.■Workshop Language
