Hello Tokyo Coffee Lovers! Welcome to our first meetup. We're hoping to use these meetups to help introduce Tokyo's coffee lovers to some of the best coffee in Tokyo while being fun, educational, and communal. So come for some coffee. Come for some new friends. Come to learn share our passion with us.
For our first coffee meetup, come join us for a collaboration event with 2 time Taipei barista champion and owner of Ga Bee, Van Lin, and Atsushi Sakao from local Tokyo roaster Onibus Coffee at this special event intersecting the coffee scene between Taipei, Japan, and broader Asia.
Participation fee: 2,000 yen (includes 2 drinks)
■Barista Business Scene in Asia
Van will first share his insights on Asia's exploding barista business scene from his personal experiences across Taipei, China, and Hong Kong. Van not only has developed his own coffee brand but helps with collaborating, producing, and training new barista businesses. Not only has he been a part of helping with Atsushi Sakao's Onibus Coffee, but has helped produce new coffee stand About Life, conducted seminars at universities, and helped create a collaborative network to support new barista ventures. Van's talk will help demystify what is now an emerging new career field in barista business.
■Special Coffee Jam
Van and Atsushi will have a special collaborative session where they create a new original coffee blend together. Learn from two masters on what makes a coffee blend well together, hear recommendations on Tokyo and Taipei coffee, and be part of the creation of new and unique coffee flavors bringing Taipei and Tokyo together.
■Cocktail Party by Van
Next enjoy special coffee cocktails by Van in collaboration with Akasaka craft beer bar Sansa and Sansa's owner Kazuhiko Hashimoto.
■FabCafe Original Coffee Packaging
After the event you will receive your specialty blended coffee in a custom package made with FabCafe's own laser cutter. These will be made live at the event so be sure to check this out as well.
■Third Wave Coffee x ABC Coffee Club
Resident coffee guru Alvin from ABC Coffee Club will share about Third Wave coffee in Japan and the journey of starting a coffee club in Japan.
