The Most Energetic and Exciting Night in Tokyo: Koenji Awa Odori!
Every year, approximately 900,000 visitors gather as over 30 dancing groups, called “Ren,” bring the streets of Koenji to life with male dances, female dances, and musical performers.
Let’s immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Awa Odori while enjoying some street food hopping!
Your host, a former Koenji local and Awa Odori fan, will share insider tips for enjoying the festival.

Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Meeting Point: Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Shin-Koenji Station
Participation Fee:
- ¥1000: Returning participants
- ¥1,500: First-time participants (includes event and operational fees) *Food and drinks not included.

Schedule (Tentative):
4:00 PM: Gather at Shin-Koenji Station.
4:10 PM: Stroll through Pal Shopping Street on the way to the venue.
5:00 PM: Watch Awa Odori performances.
6:00 PM: Enjoy street food while viewing more Awa Odori performances.
8:00 PM: Conclude at JR Koenji Station.
Total walking distance: approximately 3.5 km
What to Bring:
- A positive attitude and curiosity.
- A camera (smartphone is fine).
- Hydration drinks.
- Comfortable shoes, a hat, and a handkerchief.
- Participation in yukata (summer kimono) is welcome!

東京で一番熱気と活気に包まれる夜、高円寺阿波おどり！
毎年約90万人が訪れ、30以上の「連」と呼ばれる踊りのグループが、男踊り・女踊り・鳴り物隊で高円寺の街を躍動させます。
屋台ホッピングを楽しみながら、阿波おどりの熱気を全身で体感しに行きましょう！
元高円寺在住で阿波おどりファンのホストが、地元ならではの楽しみ方をご紹介します。

16:00 - JR日 丸の内線新高円寺集合
16:10 - パル商店街を散策しながら会場に向かう
17:00 - 阿波踊りを鑑賞
18:00 - 屋台を楽しみながら、いくつかの場所で阿波踊りを鑑賞。
20:00 - JR高円寺駅 解散
