The Rock Garden trail at Mount Mitake is a fantastical path surrounded by mossy rocks and serene streams, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the enchanting beauty seen in "Princess Mononoke." Enjoy forest bathing along the waterfalls and streams while soaking in the soothing relaxation of negative ions.
From August to September, Renge-shōma flowers are in full bloom, adding even more charm to the scenery. The use of the cable car makes this hike beginner-friendly and accessible.

Date: Thursday, August 14, 2025 (Postponed to the weekend in case of rain)

Meeting point: JR Ōme Line Mitake Station (meet at 8:30)

Participation fee:
Group members: 1000 yen
First-timers: 1500 yen (1000 yen + 500 yen group registration fee)
*The fee includes group management costs. Bus and cable car expenses are not included.

9:00 Visit Musashi Mitake Shrine
9:20 Take a break at Nagao-daira
9:35 Explore Tengu Rock
9:50 Visit Nanadaira Falls 10:05 Return to Tengu Rock
10:30 Reach the Rock Garden and enjoy lunch amidst lush greenery 11:20 Discover Ayahiro Falls
11:50 Break at Nagao-daira
12:55 Arrive at Takimoto Station and walk to Mitake Station (~50 minutes; bus option available if needed)

御岳山のロックガーデンは、苔むした岩と清流が織りなす幻想的な登山道。まるで「もののけ姫」の世界に迷い込んだような自然美が広がります。滝や清流に沿って森林浴を楽しみながら、マイナスイオンたっぷりのリラックスタイムを満喫しましょう。 また、8月から9月にかけてはレンゲショウマの花が見ごろ。ケーブルカーを利用するので、ハイキング初心者の方にも安心です。
