Tokyo Video & Filmmakers Networking 2019-09

Yup, another flash meetup this month. Happening this Thursday again at What the Dickens.

We welcome filmmakers, video producers, editors, actors, artists, etc. In other words, anyone making videos or films is welcome. It doesn't matter if you’re a nascent talent, or a seasoned professional.

You just come, order a drink, and talk to people. It's all about networking—no screening.

LOCATION

We will be on the second floor of What The Dickens, near Ebisu Station, Tokyo. (The bar itself is on the fourth floor of the Roob building.)

SCHEDULE

The event technically starts at 7pm. There's not really a strict end time. However, if there's a band playing that night, they will start playing at 9. If you want to talk to other people and network, it's best to come early. (Unless having some electric guitar drown your voice while talking is your thing. I won't judge.)

But generally, you come and leave when you want. Personally, I live in the faraway imaginary land of Chiba, so I'll likely leave around 10:30 or 11, but feel free to stay later if you want.

ATTENDANCE LIMIT

The venue is a large bar, but it's of course no conference hall. There can only be around 30 people upstairs. (The limit set on this page is 40, but people always drop out at the last minute.)

FEE

It's FREE!!!ミ☆ But…

Please buy one drink or make a food order, at least. (No outside drink or food is allowed.) Every person will be able to order and pay separately.

I pay about 30 USD twice a year to run this meet up. I mean, I won't get poor from spending that, but if people could pitch in to refund that cost, or just buy me a drink, that'd be nice.

Okay. I'm not forcing anyone to sign up. But it'd be nice if you do, because otherwise, this makes it hard for me to have a fair idea of how many people will come.

Meetup.com isn't so bad, really. Give it a try, at least!
