The 15th Marine Day Lantern Festival in Odaiba will take place this Marine Day long weekend. The overall festival involves food, drink, live performances, the usual, but the main event, the key attraction are the 50,000 paper lanterns that are laid on the beach expressing specific designs (e.g. a ship, a firework, a flower, etc.). When night falls, these lanterns will illuminate the beach in a truly unique and spectacular way.
I think it's one of the coolest looking events of the summer and a great reason to hold another night photography meetup.
Meeting spot
Odaiba Kaihin Kouen (Odaiba Seaside Park) Station at 19:00. Outside the ticket gates. We will move to the beach at around 19:10 and wait for it to get dark.
We'll then our way around slowly while taking pics. Members are free to stick together or break away as you feel like. I'll probably set a regrouping time and place on the day in case people want to eat/drink together.
What to bring
A camera of any kind (phones are also fine)
[OPTIONAL] A tripod for long exposures [OPTIONAL]
Shot challenge (No prizes) - See if you can get a photo of...
