Ever wondered what happens between clicking "Send" and an email arriving in someone's inbox? This talk explores email from the ground up, from protocols, authentication, and the unsurprisingly capable Python toolkit for working with all of it. With live code examples covering parsing, signing, and sending emails, you'll see how Python's stdlib and a few PyPI packages give you control over every layer of a 50-year-old protocol. Plus, pictures and notes from the recent Python Asia 2026 conference.

Ben Allen
