Fun & serious Lang Exchange @ a popular Irish Pub (Shimbashi Saturday)

Are you learning English or Japanese? Do you want to make friends? Do you have free time on a weekend afternoon?

If you answered yes to any or all of the above then this event is for you.

• It's a reasonably priced pub. And it'll be HAPPY hour the whole event which means drinks start at ¥400 :)

• This event is as it says; language exchange - it is THE focus of the event.

A breakdown of the event;

3:05pm - 3:10pm : Meetup time. Karasumori exit of JR Shimbashi station. Look for the Meetup sign. If you decide to go directly please go anytime from 3:15pm. Celts is a direct less than 100 meters walk from Karasumori exit

3:15pm - 3:30pm : Get a drink & preparation time. Being a pub there's an ample supply of the regular pub drinks + soft drinks & tea

3:30pm - 4pm : 15 minutes of English conversation/practice followed by 15 minutes of Japanese conversation/practice. Let's try help each other practice as much as we can

4pm - 4:10pm : Break time. Do as you'd like

4:10pm - 4:50pm : 20 minutes of Japanese conversation/practice followed by 20 minutes of English conversation/practice. Let's try help each others practice as much as we can

4:50pm - 5pm : Break time. Do as you'd like

5pm - 5:30pm : 15 minutes of English conversation/practice followed by 15 minutes of Japanese conversation/practice. Let's try help each other practice as much as we can.

5:30pm : At this time you're welcome to stay and continue practicing your target language and make contact with someone you maybe didn't get much of a chance to chat to earlier.

Joining fee :

Tourists : Free

Japanese ladies : ¥500

Japan based foreigners : ¥500

Japanese gentlemen : ¥1 000.

Notes :

• This format means you'll have at least three language exchange partners. Please don't ask to change partners

• This event is for English & Japanese language exchange only. In future we might try incorporating other languages

• All levels of English & Japanese are welcome

• No teaching experience is needed

• While I hope there'll be an equal number of English speakers and Japanese speakers this is highly unlikely. You might need to practice your target language with a person who speaks the same language as you. I will let members jump the waiting list - if one starts - to try get as good a balance as possible

• This is a non smoking event. For smokers there's a separate smoking section
