Please remember to sign up for this event on the Baby Boomer website after you have purchased your ticket. Bring identification, just in case.
There's something special about living in a city on the water. The activities by day, the lights at night, and the views all contribute to heightened experiences. Move to a city that has no body of water, and you will understand.
Let's take advantage of what we have and take a 2 hour sunset cruise on the Sandpiper on the Maumee river. We are going to cruise to Walbridge Park and enjoy a beautiful sunset followed by a return trip downtown for amazing night views. Along the way, we will see in its entirety the Glass City River Wall, the largest mural in the United States. Depending on what you read, it might be the largest in the world.
Pizza, soft drinks and water will be provided, but you can also bring a cooler with other food and alcoholic beverages. Although I didn't see anything that prohibited bringing glass aboard, I would advise against it. There are restrooms on board.
You pay the cost directly to J&M Cruise Lines, not to me. The cost is $35.00 per person plus fees in the amount of $3.21 for a total of $38.21 if you purchase online. There is a place for a tip if you want. Your cost is $36.05 if you purchase through the office manager at 419-537-1212. Getting the call through, though, might be difficult. Purchase your ticket as soon as possible. There are currently spaces still available.
In the event that bad weather is predicted, we can cancel. No refunds are given, but we will get gift cards to take the cruise at a later date. They ask for 24 hours notice. Their cancellation policy is online should you have to cancel for any other reason.
For your own comfort, bring a sweater or jacket, an umbrella if need be, and your camera or your phone with a working camera.
Please be at the Sandpiper by 7:15 pm. The address on the website is 1 Jefferson Ave, but the Sandpiper will be in the water at the bottom of the hill at the end of Jefferson. The entrance to the Promedica parking structure is about half way down the same hill. In order to find each other at the Sandpiper, I will be wearing or holding something red. I prefer a balloon, but, if I'm running late, it could be a red Mickey Mouse shirt, a red tea hat, or red letters on a sign.
Can't wait. This will be a great evening.
