Teach-In: Navigating the System – A Disability Justice Workshop
Teach-In: Navigating the System – A Disability Justice Workshop
Join us for an interactive disability justice workshop with Deloria Patton exploring how disabled people navigate systems, services, and support structures in Austria. Disability justice asks an important question: What would society look like if accessibility, care, and inclusion were built into our communities from the beginning? This workshop combines political education with practical information. Participants will explore how ableist systems create barriers while also learning about the resources, rights, and support services that currently exist. Whether you are disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, a caregiver, a support worker, an ally, or simply interested in creating more accessible communities, you are warmly welcome. **What Is Disability Justice?** Disability justice goes beyond legal accessibility requirements. It recognizes that many barriers are created by systems, institutions, policies, and environments rather than by people’s bodies or minds. Together, we will discuss: * What disability justice means in practice * How ableism shapes everyday experiences * Why accessibility benefits everyone * The relationship between disability rights and social justice * Community care, interdependence, and collective support * Creating more inclusive spaces and communities **Navigating the Austrian Support System** Many people are entitled to support but never receive it because the process of accessing services can be confusing, overwhelming, and difficult to navigate. This workshop will provide practical information about: * Behindertenpass (Disability Pass) * Pflegegeld (Care Allowance) * Accessible and supported housing options * Social work and counselling services * Eurokey access systems * Heimhilfe and personal support services * Community resources and support networks * Where to start when seeking assistance Participants will gain a clearer understanding of available services and how to access them. **Who Should Attend?** This workshop is open to: * Disabled people * Chronically ill people * Neurodivergent people * Deaf and hard-of-hearing people * Blind and low-vision people * Caregivers and personal assistants * Social workers and community organisers * Family members and friends * Anyone interested in disability justice and accessibility No previous knowledge is required. **About the Facilitator** **Deloria Patton** Deloria Patton is a disability justice advocate and educator dedicated to making information more accessible and helping people navigate systems that often create unnecessary barriers. Through community education, advocacy, and practical support, Deloria works toward greater accessibility, inclusion, and social justice. **Why This Workshop Matters** Disability justice starts with understanding that disabled people are often excluded not because of their bodies or minds, but because systems are designed without accessibility in mind. Many forms of support already exist in Austria. However, accessing them can feel like a full-time job. This workshop aims to make information clearer, more accessible, and more actionable. By understanding both the barriers and the available resources, participants can better advocate for themselves, support others, and contribute to more accessible communities. **Accessibility Information** This event takes place at Villa Vida Café, Linke Wienzeile 102, 1060 Vienna. Accessibility features include: * Step-free entrance * Wheelchair-accessible ground floor venue * Accessible toilet * Seating available throughout the event * Service animals welcome * Free drinking water available * Staff and volunteers available to assist when needed If you have additional accessibility requirements, please contact us before the event. We will do our best to accommodate individual access needs. Everyone deserves access to information, support, and community. We look forward to learning together and exploring practical ways to navigate systems while advancing disability justice in Austria.

Innate Dance Class
Innate Dance Class
**What is Innate Dance?** Innate Dance is a joyful approach to movement, which invites deeper embodiment and self-connection through butoh inspired movement, Noguchi Taiso exercises, the Seki Method, somatic attention and imagination. We shake it out, breaking up stuck energy held in the body, and explore new movement possibilities from a place of alignment and sensitivity. Thanks to our open awareness we can be surprised by lesser-known parts of ourselves and come to appreciate our innate wisdom in movement. Through exercises, explorations and improvisations we build trust in the body that knows how it would like to move and express itself, and when we follow our innate dance, it just feels good! There is also time and space to dance freely, to enjoy the music in your body and to let go! Ultimately, it's about feeling more 'in' our body and grounding joy. **When? Where? How much?** **Mondays 19:30-21:00** in Studio 2, Tanz\*Hotel, Zirkusgasse 35, 1020 Wien Try out € 16\,\- \| One class drop\-in € 21\,\- \| Student € 10\,\- \| 5 x class pass €95\,\- \| 1 x class pass for rest of semester € 224\,\- \(or €16/class\) **Who teaches the course?** Jess is a dancer and psychotherapist (humanistic and integrative), who loves shaping classes that offer the space to explore the many facets of being human. Sometimes this learning involves physically embodying non-humans like trees, fish and wind, so we can get out of our limited-human-thinking-mind and into the bigger wisdom available through imagination and our body. At other times it's about dancing textures, sensations or taking on the energy of parts of ourselves so we can know them better. Jess has danced all her life and has been exploring butoh dance for the past eleven years alongside her psychotherapeutic practice. She is co-author of *The Seki Method - Basics* (now available to buy online via website), is a Seki Method Facilitator, and was a 2024 student at the Im_Flieger Schule researching dance and healing.

Open Dialogue – Discovering Together in Vienna
Open Dialogue – Discovering Together in Vienna
We will meet in a calm and friendly place ( Parc, Café, Restaurant) to explore together some of Jiddu Krishnamurti’s key questions about awareness, relationship, and freedom. There will be no teaching, no authority — only open dialogue and attentive listening. Everyone is welcome, whether you are familiar with Krishnamurti or simply curious about life and self-understanding. We’ll start with an open conversation around a theme such as “Listening without judgment” or “Can thought bring clarity?” Please bring openness, curiosity, and a readiness to listen — no books or notes needed. The spirit is not to discuss “what should be,” but to observe together “what is.”

"Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
"Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
Join us as we discuss our June pick: Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider! Book description: Even though she's not one of them, Brynn has spent her life among the Alaha, training to be a guard and waiting for the chance to attend the annual market hosted by the Kenta–the very same people who exiled her adopted community to a life at sea. Going to the market is a rite of passage eagerly anticipated by all young guards, but Brynn does not anticipate breaking a century-long peace treaty while there. Nor does she plan for the intense encounter with an enemy soldier that now threatens to unwind the fragile coexistence between their people–and everything Brynn once believed about herself to be true. Brynn's loyalty to the Alaha is tested when the truth of her identity is brought to light by this soldier who's taken an oath to bring her back to where she belongs. Narrowly escaping death on the violent high seas, Brynn's connection to the Alaha is further tested when she learns about the world of magic she's been denied. She was once certain of her fate and where she belonged, but the dark, knowing eyes of this stranger have her questioning everything, including her heart. Packed with knife fights and seafaring adventure, METAL SLINGER is the smash-hit start to the romantic fantasy duology, the Fire & Metal series

Bondage Photography Demonstration
Bondage Photography Demonstration
**The event has been canceled.** *Note: this is a demonstration event only, you **will not** shoot you own images. However, if you bring your camera we can test it for compatibility with the studio lights.* Bondage elements can add an extra layer of emotion and artistry to your images. Sample images on the internet are however dominated by BDSM style shots that are often sexualized and emphasize the model being in distress. In this demonstration Rachel and I show ways to use bondage elements in an artistic way. We explore the types of accessories that work best in artistic images and the best way to photograph them. Our model is Rachel Adams, an internationally known fetish model with many years of experience in this genre.
Battle of the personal agents
Battle of the personal agents
Join the Columbus AI community for a special event. **Battle of the Personal Agents** is your chance to see what people are actually building with AI agents and personal automation systems. Whether you’re running OpenClaw, Hermes, or a completely custom solution, bring your agent and show the community how it works. We’re interested in real-world implementations: the problems your agent solves, how you use it day-to-day, how it’s hosted and managed, how you built it, and why you’ve chosen to keep using it. Live demonstrations are encouraged, so be prepared to show your code, architecture, workflows, and your agent performing real tasks. This is less about polished presentations and more about sharing practical experience, comparing approaches, and learning from one another. If you’d like to present, please contact Chris Slee (via meetup) before the event so we can allocate enough time for everyone’s demonstrations. Come ready to show what you’ve built, discover what others are doing, and maybe find a few ideas worth taking home. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
