Play 3-Sided Soccer at Albert Park - mixed - social - all levels - all fitness
Play 3-Sided Soccer at Albert Park - mixed - social - all levels - all fitness
3 Teams. 3 Goals. Hexagonal Pitch. A game of alliance and betrayal in equal measure. We are looking for new players and returning players alike to come play a match. Players of any ability, fitness level or background are welcomed - the game is intended to be fun for a Sunday morning rather than super competitive. If you've never played before, that's okay - the rules are as simple as this: * There's no offside - roam where you will * Defend your goal at all costs * No hands (this is soccer-style football after all) Come down for 9:00am, we make some balanced teams and warm up for the match starting at 9:15. Three thirds are played of 25 minutes each so we're usually done by about 11:00am. All fitness and soccer skill levels more than welcome and encouraged! A note regarding junior players: We very much enjoy and encourage junior players to come along and play however please be aware of the following: * As most attendees are adults, all players must be a minimum of 1.5m tall and 13 years of age. Soccer may have incidental contact when contesting a ball, and we would hate for someone small to be injured as a result of running into someone larger than them. * Any players under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a playing parent or guardian. How to find us - We meet on the astroturf pitch near the Baselball and Hockey clubs in Albert Park. The main location we use is called "Dorothy Coleman Field". If we aren't there then there may be a couple of other locations, [as noted on this dynamic map](https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1JdDwV4AOV5e-xP5d56m16-eu29GlnZQ&usp=sharing) \- generally we will follow in number order\.

Is equality compatible with excellence?
Is equality compatible with excellence?
**PLEASE NOTE RECENT LOCATION CHANGE & ATTENDANCE FEE!** Please join us this Sunday as we discuss is equality compatible with excellence. **We will meet at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (100m north of previous location) at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp.** **We kindly ask attendees to pay $5 to attend to help with MeetUp costs & venue costs. This is not mandatory, but if you are a regular member it would be appreciated. Any extra moneys will go towards buying food and drinks for the table. The venue also expects us to spend money as a group, so grateful if you could buy a drink from the venue.** There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged. Find below some questions to consider, however these are free-ranging events and the below serve as a springboard for the discussion. \- Equality of what \- outcome\, opportunity\, dignity\, status\, political power? \- Excellence in what \- occupation\, sport\, art\, moral character? \- Is excellence inherently hierachical? \- Is it fair that some children get enormous advantages \(mostly non\-financial\)? \- Does meritocracy fairly reward talent\, or does it entrench advantage? \- Can democratic equality coexist with technocratic expertise? \- What have philosophers had to say about this topic \(Nietzsche\, Rawls\, Sandel etc\)? \- What do the experiences of other countries reveal about this topic? \- Are the solutions different for children and adults or if we are thinking on a 20 year time frame\, not this year? \- Can a society maximise equality and excellence at the same time\, or must one give way?
Prioritising what matters workshop
Prioritising what matters workshop
🧭 Prioritising What Matters Most In January, we did the **Vision Boarding** workshop 🖼️ Big ideas. Big feelings. Big “ah yes, this is the life” energy. And then… Monday happened. 😐 This workshop is about what comes **after** the vision: 👉 **What do you actually do next when everything feels important and your brain has simply left the chat?** If your to-do list currently: * Stares back at you menacingly 👁️ * Has items from 2019 still “in progress” * Feels like a moral judgement instead of a tool ✨ welcome ✨ We’re taking your existing vision and turning it into **clear priorities and doable tasks**, without shame, hustle, or pretending you’re powered by unlimited spoons. ### 🛠️ What we’ll do (chaos → clarity pipeline) * Use **values** as a decision filter (not a personality test, promise) 🧽 * Narrow things down to **3–5 values that matter *right now*** (everyone else can wait) * Do a quick **life audit** to find where your energy is thriving vs. quietly escaping through the vents 🪫 * Translate all that into: * A short list of priorities that actually deserve your time 🎯 * Habits that won’t immediately start a rebellion 😤 * One-off tasks with a suspiciously high payoff 💥 * Apply the **TOP framework** (Time-pressure × Outcome ÷ Perspiration) so you’re not spinning the “what should I do?” wheel every day 🎡 ### 💬 Plot twist: you will talk to people This is a **social workshop** 🤝 There will be: * Pair chats * Occasional “oh wow same” moments No forced sharing. No spotlight anxiety. You can participate by talking, listening, nodding, or aggressively highlighting your worksheet. All valid. ### 🧠 Who it’s for Neurodivergent folks (ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, gloriously neurospicy 🌶️) who: * Came to the Vision Boarding workshop and want the *actual follow-through (but it's ok if you didn't come to it 😅)* * Have a vision but a to-do list that has become a cry for help 🆘 * Are tired of productivity systems that assume you wake up refreshed and motivated every day ### 📍 The extremely important logistics 🗓 **Sunday 15 February** ⏰ **1.30pm – 3.30pm** 📍 **Sandringham Library** Worksheets provided ✍️ No pressure to overshare 🙅 Low-energy attendance fully respected 😴💚 Same vision. Fewer tabs. Better priorities. Let’s make your to-do list less cursed. 🪄🧠

Lets Hello World: n8n (In-person and Online)
A hands-on session exploring n8n, the open source workflow automation tool. We will install it, build a simple automation, and experiment with connecting services and local AI models. **About the Event** Let’s Hello World is a simple idea. We pick an open source tool and begin. Not a deep dive. Not a polished workshop. Just a focused session to install it, try it, and build something small together. The goal is to get past the hardest step: beginning. **n8n** n8n is an open source workflow automation tool that lets you connect services, APIs, and scripts into repeatable workflows. During this session we will: \- Run n8n locally \- Explore the interface \- Build a basic workflow \- Connect to at least one real service No prior experience required. If you have been meaning to try n8n but have not made the time, this is your chance. Bring a laptop and curiosity. Time: from 1PM to 3PM Location: Room GR03, Melbourne Business School Online: electronworkshop.com.au/goto/venue Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ww9wb1pHpvLRkAt99

In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
This is an in-person meeting. At this meeting you will get answers to depression and anxiety. Find out the source of them and how to get rid of them. Did you know that unwanted emotions like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, fear, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not due to a chemical imbalance in your brain from some nebulous chemical reaction "by chance". Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation of Central Ohio and Church of Scientology of Central Ohio.
CMG Gives Back - March: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
CMG Gives Back - March: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! For this event, we’ll help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents, wash dishes and clean surfaces at Fath Mission – Grant Kitchen. We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. Our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:15am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1, indicated in the attached map. On-site and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: \* LSS Volunteer Guidelines: Uploaded to photos. \* Parking Map Info: Uploaded to photos. \* LSS Faith Mission Orientation Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp46_6ay6iA \* Link with Additional Details / Info: https://lss.vomo.org/opportunity/faith-mission-grant-kitchen-2025 IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing the all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With very few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. THANK YOU: This CMG Gives Back event provides an opportunity for YOU to get involved in helping others! Benefits go well beyond the help we give to others. Volunteering provides a wide range of personal benefits, including positive effects on mental and physical health, reduced stress/depression/anxiety, increased happiness and improved purpose, life-satisfaction and personal well-being! Plus, the opportunity to get involved, connect with others and help those in need. PARTNER AGENCY: This event is hosted by Lutheran Social Services (LSS), which serves thousands of people in need each day in 27 Ohio counties by addressing the four core societal issues of food, shelter, safety and healing. LSS offers food through the LSS Food Pantries, housing and supportive services through LSS Faith Mission and LSS Faith Mission of Fairfield County homeless shelters, domestic violence services through LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence, senior living and health care, affordable housing communities, and other services that uplift families and strengthen communities. Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
