So many ladies in our community are currently navigating romantic transitions, heartbreaks, endings, disappointments, or emotional resets. Instead of isolating through it, I thought it might be beautiful to create space to process it together. Join us for an evening of good food, music, conversation, and supportive community with women who understand how heavy these seasons can feel. This won’t be a sad “sit in silence” kind of gathering think warmth, honesty, laughter, reflection, and reminding ourselves that endings can also be beginnings. We’ll likely include: ✨ journaling + reflection prompts ✨ symbolic release/letting go activities ✨ comforting food & drinks ✨ music and soft vibes ✨ and maybe even a piñata for dramatic effect because healing can be playful too You do not need to share your story if you don’t want to. Covering 1,800 acres, this park is a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and families. With its woodlands, lakes, and a bounty of activities, the park offers an escape in every season. At the core of Rock Creek Regional Park’s appeal is its rich and varied landscape. The park’s expanse is punctuated by two bodies of water: the 75-acre Lake Needwood and the 55-acre Lake Frank. These lakes, with their calm surfaces and lush surroundings, provide both scenic vistas and a hub for aquatic activities. The park’s dense woodlands are crisscrossed by miles of trails—winding routes that meander along lake shores, through forests, and across open meadows. The diversity of the landscape ensures that every visit feels fresh. This hike will explore Lake Frank. The trail for our hike begins at the Lake Frank parking lot. The Lake Frank and Meadowside Trails surround the lake, each offering beautiful views of the lake and meadow fields. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area.
