In Principles, Dalio shares what he’s learned over the course of his remarkable career. He argues that life, management, economics, and investing can all be systemized into rules and understood like machines. The book’s hundreds of practical lessons, which are built around his cornerstones of “radical truth” and “radical transparency,” include Dalio laying out the most effective ways for individuals and organizations to make decisions, approach challenges, and build strong teams. He also describes the innovative tools the firm uses to bring an idea meritocracy to life, such as creating “baseball cards” for all employees that distill their strengths and weaknesses, and employing computerized decision-making systems to make believability-weighted decisions. While the book brims with novel ideas for organizations and institutions, Principles also offers a clear, straightforward approach to decision-making that Dalio believes anyone can apply, no matter what they’re seeking to achieve.
Here, from a man who has been called both “the Steve Jobs of investing” and “the philosopher king of the financial universe” (CIO magazine), is a rare opportunity to gain proven advice unlike anything you’ll find in the conventional business press.
Ray Dalio is the founder and mentor of Bridgewater Associates, which, over the last forty years, has become the largest and best performing hedge fund in the world. He is the author of [#1]() New York Times Bestseller and [#1]() Amazon Business Book of the Year, Principles. Dalio has appeared on the Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world as well as the Bloomberg Markets list of the 50 most influential people. He lives with his family in Connecticut.
桥水基金:他创立的对冲基金,管理资产峰值超过1600亿美元,是全世界最大的对冲基金;
两次"史诗级"预测:1987年精准预测美股崩盘,2008年金融危机前提前布局,为客户赚得盆满钵满;

The average altitude of Tibet is about **4000 meters** above the sea level (Lhasa: 3700m; Shigatse: 3836m; EBC: 5100m;). You may suffer from High Altitude Sickness in the beginning days of your Tibet trip. But don’t worry too much, **the high altitude can be acclimatized usually in 2\~3 days**. Our suggestion is to take a physical examination and get suggestions from your doctor, and medicines like aspirin is helpful to ease the headache. (drinking coke is also helpful). While in Tibet, you should **keep warm all the time**, avoid running, drink more water and eat more vegetables and carbohydrates. We suggest you to not take showers during the first day after your arrival at Tibet. If you don’t feel well, get help from your tour guide or go to the hospital without any delay.
The Fiction Workshop
Welcome to the Shanghai Writing Workshop. We are interested in everything related to creative writing, and we hope you can join us.
If you're interested in joining, you'll need to join our wechat chat group to let us know if you're lost on your way to the meeting. You can wechat me at texaswriter, and I can get you added. I also encourage you to scan the QR code above to join our official wechat channel. There you can get detailed directions on how to find us, how to sign up for our website (www.shanghaiwriting.com), and details on how we function.
There's a new short prompt available on the website that's updated for each meeting. Try and post a response a few days before meeting if you want others a chance to comment on it.
You also don't have to submit. Readers are always welcome, but I do find that reading before meeting greasy increases the joy of going to meeting.
No experience required. We are a mixed group in terms of experience, backgrounds, and languages, but I find that we are also very supportive of each other in everything from goals to reading to publishing.
In addition to the standard workshop, the Shanghai Writing Workshop hosts two writing retreats a year, puts forward a team for the three day novel writing competition, hosts a reading series called Shanghai Voices, and puts together an ebook anthology of work at the end of every year. We're always doing something, and if you have any ideas, we're always up for anything literature related.
Once again, if you need help getting setup, contact me on wechat, texaswriter, and I hope to see you at the workshop.

Arrive On Time: If you arrive late to registration you might miss out on some of the fun. Pace Yourself: It's essential to pace yourself and drink responsibly during a bar crawl. Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help you stay hydrated and reduce the risk of a hangover the next day and help with your overconsumption of alcohol during the Crawl. Eat Beforehand: Eating a substantial meal before the bar crawl can help absorb alcohol and prevent you from getting too drunk too quickly. Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing that allows you to move freely and stay cool. Stay Safe: Stick together with your group, and make sure to have a designated driver or plan for transportation at the end of the night. Conclusion In summary, a bar crawl is an event where a group of people visit multiple bars or pubs in a single night. And it can be a great time as you travel from bar to bar.
