MF#K: What's in a webapp?
*Talk by Joakim Ahnfelt-Rønne and Michael Flænø Werk*
What's the set of features you need to build a production webapp? In this talk we build a minimal but feature-complete (or is it?) webapp in our functional-imperative hybrid web language, Firefly, packing in the features we think are essential: Route-based bundling, server side rendering with hydration, declarative DOM, scoped CSS, WebSockets, serialization, typed RPC, and more.
*As usual, there's mingling at the local bar after the talk.*

Bootable containers bring the benefits of containers and immutability to traditional VMs and physical machines. How can you benefit from this in your own environment? The immutability requires you to think differently when it comes to updates and organization of your applications.
In this session we will show how bootable containers work and what to be aware of.

Speaker: Kārlis Akots Gribulis and Per Hedegaard Christiansen from Saxo Bank

Botanical Cyanotypes
Join us for a cosy artsy evening, where I'll take you through the process of making botanical cyanotype prints.
Cyanotype printing is a photographic process, invented in 1841, that uses iron-based chemicals, UV-light and water to create beautiful dark blue prints. It is easy, less toxic and less expensive than most other photographic print-making techniques.
The workshop requires no prior experience and I will provide all necessary materials for you to make two A5-sized prints.

She Connects: Copenhagen Brunch & Reflection, by Femme Palette
Join us for a cozy Saturday morning Femme Palette gathering in Copenhagen — a small-group reflection session using **The Year Compass**.
Even though it’s already February, many of us are still in that “endless January” feeling — rushing from one thing to the next without ever properly closing the year behind us. This event is a gentle pause: a chance to look back, reset, and step into the next chapter with more clarity and intention.
Together, we’ll go through a **printed copy of The Year Compass**, a **guided reflection + intention-setting booklet** to help you reflect on the past year with honesty (not perfection), celebrate what worked and release what didn’t, and reconnect with what you want more of.
This is also a lovely opportunity to meet other like-minded people in Copenhagen — whether you’re new to the city, new to Femme Palette, or returning from previous events. The group will be kept intentionally small to make the space feel safe, relaxed, and personal.
[Paludan](https://www.paludanbogcafe.com/) is a great place for brunch, so you’re very welcome to order something to enjoy during the session. **Please note that anything beyond the included drink is covered individually.**
**Details:**
Date: **Saturday, February 28th**
Time: **11:00–13:00**
Location: **[Paludan Bogcafé, Copenhagen](https://share.google/FCkHQZXyvSjHv2OvI)**
Ticket: **70 DKK** includes **one drink** (coffee/tea/juice) + a **printed Year Compass**
Come as you are — reflective, curious, tired, excited… all of it is welcome.
We’ll write, think, share (only if you want to), and leave with a clearer sense of direction. We can’t wait to welcome you!
If you have any questions, you can contact us at events@femmepalette.com
The event will be held in English.

Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.
