How to do that?!** A logline is one sentence that describes your story... in the best possible way. Pitching, amongst other things, has always been one of the toughest things about getting one's story off the ground. How do you summarize tens of thousands of words, weeks of writing, months of toiling, and defeat self-doubt into a short and memorable logline? And once your story is out there in the world, a logline will help draw the "right" audience to your story. Finding the essence of the story, rediscovering the protagonist's goals & struggles, and endeavoring for a fresh, iconic angle, we'll learn about the industry-standard formula for pitching your story. We will share ways to make your logline stand out in a sea of stories. In this presentation, the host will explain his writing approach, his experience working with filmmakers and narrative-designers to explore the world of story-telling within the confines of professional storytelling. A focus will be on screenwriting and movies, but **what you will learn today will be applicable to all forms of writing and storytelling**, whether you are writing a novel, a collection of poems, non-fiction, essays, or anything else! In subsequent classes we will verify and hone our talents with activities and discussion. These are hands-on workshops and participation is expected. The goal of our series will be to develop expertise in areas of particular interest such as mediumship, channeling, divination, healing and, etc..
