Jira, Rovo & Beer: What We Brought Back from Team '26
In early May, two of our Atlassian experts packed their bags and flew to California for Atlassian Team '26 - one of the biggest gatherings in the Atlassian ecosystem. Georgi and George spent several intense days in Anaheim, sitting through keynotes, joining partner sessions, hosting conversations, and talking to people from organizations across the world who are wrestling with the same questions we are.
They're back now. And we thought the best way to share what they learned is an evening with beer and pizza.
So what did they actually bring back?
The biggest shift was a fundamental change in how Atlassian is positioning itself - not just as a suite of tools your team uses, but as the layer that makes your organizational knowledge usable by any AI system you're already working with. The data your teams have been building for years in Jira, Confluence, and JSM - the workflows, the ownership, the history - is now something external tools can actually access and act on.
On the AI side, Rovo moved well beyond being a smart assistant. The new direction is about AI that takes on real work: breaking down complex requests, executing multi-step tasks, and doing it in a way that stays visible and auditable. Non-technical people can now build automations by describing what they need in plain language. Engineers can ask questions across entire multi-repo codebases. And for the first time, organizations will be able to see exactly where their AI investment is going - and whether it's actually connected to anything strategic.
Join us for an informal evening where we unpack all of it and what it means for the way we work.

Boriana Todorova, Community Leader
I'm a senior technology leader with 20+ years of experience in quality assurance, process improvement, project delivery, and organizational transformation. I specialize in building high-performing teams, and bridging the gap between business goals and tech execution.
My mission is simple:
I help systems and people work better — starting with myself, and never stopping at “good enough.”
I thrive where complexity meets urgency — whether it's redesigning inefficient workflows, elevating engineering culture, or aligning delivery with long-term value. I bring a strong foundation in internal auditing practices, ensuring that systems are not only efficient but also aligned with key compliance and quality standards like ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 — without losing sight of the human side of work.
I’ve also developed a strong interest in artificial intelligence — not just as a tool, but as a transformational force. I’m exploring how AI can enhance quality, automate the right parts of work, and help us build more adaptive, intelligent systems that serve both business and society responsibly.
I believe the future of tech depends not just on innovation, but on responsibility, empathy, and structure that serves both people and planet.

PyData Sofia & DSS Meetup June 2026
Come and join us on Jun 18, 2026 for a dive into a topic that impacts everyone using Python. (**Important**: The event requires a mandatory registration)
Everyone knows that there is no real multithreading in Python - or is there? The tradeoffs between processes and threads is well known. But what if we could have the best of both worlds? This is where subinterpreters come in. We will go over what subinterpreters are, how they work, and most importantly, how we can use them to make our code faster.
We will also go deeper into Python’s internals and explore what a GIL-less Python looks like. The “freethreaded” builds of Python are easily accessible - but are there drawbacks?
After that, we can have a quick chat and enjoy some drinks and pizza (provided by SiteGround)
