Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now?
Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be.
Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t.
Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.
Boring is Better: Building RAG with PostgreSQL as a Vector Database
Welcome to the first M-PUG session of the year as we kick off spring in Sweden! Join us for an evening of practical AI and PostgreSQL discussion, community, and good company. We'll be gathering at the ground floor of Minc, and whether you're a longtime member or joining us for the first time, we’re excited to reconnect with the community and start the year with an insightful session.
**Title:** Boring is Better: Building RAG with PostgreSQL as a Vector Database
**Abstract:**
Retrieval-Augmented Generation doesn't need the shiniest vector database. PostgreSQL with pgvector gives you everything you need: fast similarity search, native indexing, and - most importantly - one less system to operate. We'll show how to build production RAG applications using the database you already know and love, without the operation complexity/overhead/hype of dedicated vector stores. See if PostgreSQL is the boring choice that makes sense for your team's AI development workflow.
**Speaker:**
Ali Jahangiri brings a decade of expertise with electron driven innovation - from atomic scale transistor fabrication, to physical AI solution development at Arduino and high performance computing systems. As a Machine Learning PhD candidate at Lund University and affiliated member of the ELLIIT (Linköping-Lund initiative on IT and mobile communication) centre of excellence, Ali is advancing the sustainable AI frontier by developing smaller, faster and more energy-efficient machine learning architectures.
**Agenda**
17:15 - 17:30: Guest arrival
17:30 - 18:15: Presentation
18:15 - 19:30: Pizza and networking
MF#K: An introduction to Martin-Löf's meaning explanations
*Talk by Abraham W.*
Martin-Löf's meaning explanations provide an approach to understand mathematical statements as statements about functional computer programs. Furthermore, meaning explanations can be used to justify the inference rules of intuitionistic type theory.
*As usual, there's mingling at the local bar after the talk.*
Lessons From 10 years of Platform Engineering
**👉Do Not Hesitate To Join the Waitlist — We will try to find room for everyone...👈**
**This event is a memorial gathering, a wake** to the planned — but now cancelled [DevOpsDays Copenhagen 2026](https://www.devopsdays.dk/events/drink-up-2026/).
**The event is free to participate - SEATS ARE LIMITED TO 40!**
**Program (start 17:00 SHARP, arrive and be seated before that!)**
* **Welcome** + 1 minute of silence for the deceased DevOpsDays
* **Lessons from 10 years of Platform Engineering** by Kris Buytaert
* **Table discussions** — "What the heck is going on in the DevOps Community right now?"
* **Summary** on table discussions
* **Outro** — The current status of the transformed Danish DevOpsDays Association and a glimpse into what the future will bring
It ends at the "Workbar" no later than **19:00** but if we're still a decent crowd we will continue onward for a burger or a pizza.
**Keynote:** [Kris Buytaert](https://www.devopsdays.dk/profiles/kris-buytaert/) is flying in from Belgium to deliver his planned Keynote [Lessons From 10 years of Platform Engineering ](https://www.devopsdays.dk/talks/lessons-from-10-years-of-platform-engineering/)
**Post Mortem:** We had to cancel the planned two-day DevOpsDays conference, simply due to lack of interest from audience. This is the canary in coal mine; DevOps(Days) choked. Let's do a post mortem. Platform Engineering is the new DevOps — so we're told. *"No — that's Ops, not DevOps".* Where did all the *"You Build It You Run It"* hype go? We will kick off discussions on this topic at the tables - while you sip your funeral beer.
**Phoenix rising:** — The Danish DevOpsDays Association has a new charter, new bylaws, a new purpose. We, the organizers, will lay out our plans for the future and encourage you to join.
**Context:** [DevOps is Broken](https://www.devopsdays.dk/stories/devops-is-broken/)
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
- 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros.
- Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour.
- After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
Shut Up & Write!® in Amager
**Co-working for writers in Amager!**
Join us for an hour of focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in the area.
We meet in this lovely spacious café, chilled out, usually not very busy at this time, with an on-site bakery of delicious pastries. Once everyone is here and settled, I will lead a quick introduction, and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session.
After the hour is up feel free to chat / take off / keep writing if you're on a roll. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers, and it can be a great way to learn from eachother.
**A note about the format**
We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing.

No Data Scientists Were Harmed: ML Inference for Regular Game Devs
Viviane and Xavier are visiting from the Unity Montreal office, and they have kindly offered to give a talk about using machine learning inference in Unity games (actually same talk which will also be given internally)
**Xavier Désilets** \- Senior Software Developer\, Unity
**Viviane Rochon Montplaisir** \- Senior Software Developer\, Unity
Are you a game dev who keeps hearing words like "tensors" and "logits" and quietly alt-tabs back to your prefab folder? This session is for you.
In the first half, we'll do a fast, practical ML 101 specifically for game developers. We'll cover what tensors actually are (in human language), quantization, how model graphs work, and what to make of different model formats.
In the second half, we'll focus on the decisions you have to make to ship something: how to pick a model size that won't set your players' fans on fire, what formats and hardware are supported, and how to think about speed vs. quality. We'll walk through real-world input and output pipelines. We'll ground this with currently available Unity Sentis samples.
By the end, you won't be a data scientist, but you will know how to choose, run, and wire up ML models at runtime in Unity without breaking your frame budget or your brain.
**Program:**
17:30 - Sandwiches, sodas and mingling
18:00 - Welcome
18:10 - Presentation
19.15 (approx.) - Mingling continues
21:30 - Venue closing

**Cursor In Practice (Deep Dive): From Figma To Working Website - Making Interfaces Actually Behave**
**[Please register on Luma to receive details about the event: https://luma.com/ph7xqr4m](https://luma.com/ph7xqr4m)**
It’s never been easier to generate an interface and still surprisingly hard to make one behave properly. This session sits exactly in that tension. We’ll take a real Figma design and use Cursor to turn it into a working website - not as a demo, but as a hands-on session where you’ll work through it yourself. Where it’s smooth, you’ll feel it. Where it’s messy, you’ll understand why.
## You'll need:
• A laptop (fully charged)
• Cursor installed
• A Cursor account (free/hobby is fine)
• A Figma account (free is fine)
*If you arrive without setup, you won’t get much out of the session.*
## **Light Pre-Work:**
**👉 There will be light pre-work shared ahead of time with everyone registered in Luma - keep an eye on your e-mail closer to the workshop.**

## **About the speaker**
> Justin Waugh (he/him) loves good UX and doesn't like to give in easily. When he's not running front-end & UX workshops, he leads development and design teams as a UX Strategist within the UN or writes about good UX. With over 30 years of hybrid design/developer experience, he's always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and human behaviour. With an MA from Hyper Island under his belt, Justin specializes in user-centric design, effective IT leadership, and innovative UX strategies and has a sharpened sense of how to think about users, systems, and the subtle art of making technology feel human.
> In sessions, Justin brings his trademark mix of practical insight and creative curiosity. Expect an honest look at what makes interfaces work and why they often don’t. His sessions are known for being hands-on, combining design thinking with real-world technical grounding.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_Rosler
The meetup lasts 2 full hours with optional overtime
Before starting, you can find our table and leave your things so Lou can grab a drink at the café.
Once we are all seated, we introduce ourselves and start cutting and pasting.
• 1s hour- the first round of collage is called freestyle to help us warm up. No restrictions, start finding images to cut out and paste.
• 2nd hour - for the second round, someone proposes some simple "trigger instructions".
In the end, we show our collages and appreciate the diversity of styles.
• After the session, we have the option to extend it a bit to get a drink or some food we can bring or order food so we can hang out a bit more. (Mellemrummet is very relaxing regarding bringing your own food from home or other venues; there is a poke place right in front.)
Everyone is free to do fewer or more collages as wished, the triggers and frameworks are only a reference. We dedicate some time to appreciating techniques, shapes, colours, and textures to learn and get inspired by each other. Alongside, we chat and relax.
These sessions are not a class but rather a community gathering. We try to nurture a friendly atmosphere and take care of each other.

Disc Tues / BAFTA Winner: I SWEAR at Marcus Crosswoods!
Join us as we get together to see the BAFTA-winning British biographical dark-comedy/drama, I SWEAR! The film is based on the true-life story of a Scottish man diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at an early age. Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event:
DESCRIPITON: This true-life story follows a Scottish man diagnosed with Tourette's at 15. Targeted as 'insane' by his peers, he struggled with a condition few had witnessed. In search of his life’s purpose, he began campaigning for better understanding and acceptance of the condition of Tourette's as an adult.
The film is written/directed/produced by Kirk Jones and stars Robert Aramayo, Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson and Peter Mullan.
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeWqQN3snCU
BUZZ & ACCLAIM: I Swear currently has an incredible 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which says: “A deft balance of prickly and sweet that's bound together by Robert Aramayo's knockout performance, I Swear doesn't sugarcoat the challenges of Tourette syndrome while delivering an uplifting tale of resilience.” Others call it, “"funny, fierce and full of heart!” The film was released earlier in the UK making it eligible for this year’s BAFTA’s where it won Best Casting and Best Lead Actor for Robert Aramayo. The film and Robert Aramayo's performance will be eligible for next year’s Oscars!
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the bar area about 30 minutes before showtime! Once details are confirmed, advance ticket purchase is advised! Details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Should be a good one, Dan
