Dublin Debaters - 1 V 1 Debates
Get ready to make your voice heard at the next meeting of **People's College Debating Club** on **4th March**! Whether you’re a seasoned speaker or someone who’s never stood up to debate before, this is your chance to sharpen your arguments, challenge new ideas, and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment. This meeting will be a little different and a lot more exciting. We are asking everyone to along a motion to debate. It can be serious, political, philosophical, light-hearted, or completely creative. Whether it’s “This House Would Ban Social Media for Under 16s” or “This House Believes Pineapple Belongs on Pizza,” we want to hear your ideas! The more varied and imaginative the motions, the better the debates will be. On the day, we’ll be holding **1-on-1 debates for each motion**. That means every idea gets the spotlight, and every speaker gets the opportunity to go head-to-head in a focused, fast-paced exchange of arguments. This format is perfect for developing quick thinking, structured reasoning, and confident delivery. Debating isn’t just about winning an argument it’s about learning how to communicate clearly, think critically, and respond under pressure. These are skills that help in exams, university interviews, job applications, and everyday life. So start thinking of your motion, prepare your arguments, and come ready to challenge and be challenged. Bring a friend, bring your ideas, and most importantly, bring your voice. We can’t wait to see you on **4th March** for an evening of lively discussion and competitive spirit at People’s College Debating Club €3 Attendance fee payable at the door

6v6 soccer, Wednesdays 8:00PM, SportsCo, D4
\*\*Each week we typically have 2-3 spots open to players from this app. This is why you will only see 2-3 attending. The others are regulars and we coordinate in a private WhatsApp group\*\* We play a 6v6 game every Wednesday @ 8:00PM in SportsCo, Dublin 4. The pitch we use is spacious an ideal for 6v6 (ball/all bibs provided). To encourage passing and flowing football, goals can only be scored from inside the penalty area. Games are played in a friendly atmosphere and slide tackles are prohibited. We don't have stick keepers and use a last-man back policy. There is a core group of regular players who have played with us for years but we also invite a handful of pickup players to play from this app. If pickup players like the vibe they might have the option to subscribe on a longer-term basis. This game has been running on the same pitch for over a decade. The games are good quality with good technical players and always played in a nice, competitive atmosphere.

Jugger is a fast paced but easy to pick up sport that is great for beginners. Its like a combination of tag rugby and fencing and is a great way to meet new people and then hit them with a padded stick. Its light contact and the only gear you need to bring is clothing you are comfortable running around in and some water.
