Hello Friends! The last hike before Christmas will take us to the south of our country. As part of the former mining area, we will see some remains from that era in the forest, like posts from cable cars for iron ore transport. We will start in Schifflange at the train station and find our way to the "Nature Reserve Brucherbierg-Lalléngerbierg". We will take a path with a great view over the valley before we cross over a road into the forest that will finally take us to Esch. We will take a few short breaks to have a sip of water, and after 8 km, we do a short Glühwein break, in the "Maison Rosati", a gem in the forest for breaks like this. The break will be no longer than 20 minutes because we need to continue towards the final Bratwurst destination! In case the weather is bad, we're awfully tired, or someone forgot to bring Glühwein, we can shorten the hike to anything like 9, 10, or 12km, because the house is located at the furthest point and we can skip it (and the break) to get earlier to our Gromperekichelcher! **Meeting Point:** We will meet at the Schifflange train station and start the hike shortly after the train arrives. https://maps.app.goo.gl/6nZ4fqoTXSUmtsnw8 **Public Transport:** * You can take Train RB 6711 from Luxembourg "Gare Centrale", leaving at 11:00 towards "Rodange". **Calling all queer crochet enthusiasts;** I am a visual artist located in Columbus that is searching for people who may want to gather while also participating in creating a piece of artwork. My goal is to spend time enjoying one another’s company while making a work of art that will be displayed within our community. I plan to teach people to crochet (if unfamiliar) while also inviting current fiber artists to join us for some much-needed social interaction. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
