Join us for our weekly riichi mahjong meetup! It is highly encouraged to make a purchase of food or drink at the Whole Foods while playing there. We play on the second floor of the Whole Foods in a bar area called The High Point, There is parking for $5 on the weekends at The Boro Garage B. Do not use the whole foods parking lot since it gets up to $25.

Join Nordic Culture and Language Exchange this Sunday, 28 December at the new Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. Come learn about Nordic contributions to the American Experience. We’ll learn about some Nordic-Americans and Nordic communities that influenced the growth and development of the United States and how Nordic-Americans attempted to realize the “American Dream”. Then we will practice Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, and Icelandic. Meet at the tables near the “Tree of Generations”- if the new cafe is open by then, we will move to a table there. You can obtain free tickets at https://www.mcaad.org/ or we will have extra tickets for 1pm. The museum is located at 1503 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC.

######## NEW LOCATION ####### We are going to be at The Forge on Bethel Rd this week and until further notice! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area! Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the building that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

We'll be set up at a Coffee shop or restaurant, so you may be expected to buy a drink or snack. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.

I have some extra pickle ball paddles and balls if you don’t have one. Definitely bring your own paddle if you have one and bring some balls if you have them.
