**Let’s spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon exploring the National Gallery together, followed by a friendly social meetup at a nearby café or pub.** For our first event, I’ve chosen a central location to make it easy for everyone to join. This is a welcoming, low‑pressure event — perfect for anyone who enjoys culture, travel, photography, or simply meeting new people in a friendly environment. ## **📍 Meeting Point** ## We’ll meet outside the Sainsbury Wing entrance of the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 5DN. If you have any issues finding the group, **send me a message through Meetup**. I’ll be standing near the entrance so you can easily spot me. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start together. ## **🖼️ What we’ll do** We’ll spend around **60 minutes** exploring a selection of rooms inside the National Gallery. No need to be an art expert — this is relaxed, friendly, and open to everyone. After the gallery, we’ll head to a **nearby café or pub** for drinks and conversation. This photographic printing process uses sunlight, water, and natural materials to create stunning one-of-a-kind artworks in deep luminous blue. Using botanicals, shells, feathers, and found objects, you'll compose your own prints and watch them develop in real time. No cameras, screens, or prior experience needed. Accessible-format life drawing and portrait session with a range of poses from 2 minute tutor-led warm up exercises to 15 mins in the first half of the class with general tips and tuition. In the second half, a long portrait pose of 35-40 mins with a 10 minute demo/draw-along led by tutor and portrait artist Rod who will show and talk through the process of drawing a portrait in front of the class. The BSIA invites you all to picnic and observe the Sun safely with them on Hanover Green in Regents Park again this year on Sunday, June 21st (NOT their usual evening meeting place at the Hub). This SUNday solar picnic is **free** to attend, and open til mid-afternoon (join them at any time, though it may finish earlier if weather becomes unsuitable). Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk. These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches. In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route. Come along on Sunday 21st June for a Blue Badge Guided Walk around historic Bermondsey! Blue Badge Guides know London better than anyone. They have trained intensively for two years and passed the highest Tourist Guiding qualification in the UK. **About the walk** Bermondsey may be understood to mean '*Beornmund*'s' island. Once dominated by industry, this area is now on the up with fashionable restaurants, riverside apartments and museums devoted to fashion/design. We will hear about Bermondsey’s renaissance on this tour which takes in the site of an ancient abbey, one of London’s most atmospheric streets and the old Leathermarket. We finish in a riverside area renowned for its cuisine. The walk is a private walk for the group, we will be guided by Blue Badge guide [Diane Burstein](https://www.guidelondon.org.uk/guides/dianeburstein/) and [Moira Dearnley](https://www.itg.org.uk/register-of-guides/moira-j-dearnley). These meetings will be a building block approach to learning photographic mastery over three disciplines: Mechanical Mastery (MM) - 13 weeks of the series Exposure Mastery (EM) - 26 weeks of the series Composition Mastery (CM) - A 52 week series All three series will run concurrently and will dovetail as follows: Q3/26 - MM (Iter 1), EM (Iter 1, Pt 1), CM (Iter 1, Pt1) Q4/26 - MM (Iter 2), EM (Iter 1, Pt 2), CM (Iter 1, Pt2) Q1/27 - MM (Iter 3), EM (Iter 2, Pt 1), CM (Iter 1, Pt3) Q2/27 - MM (Iter 4), EM (Iter 2, Pt 2), CM (Iter 1, Pt4) That's likely confusing, but essentially, MM offered 4 times in that period, EM offered 2 times, and CM offered 1 time. **TO BE CLEAR - THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THESE CLASSES.** This is an aggressive series, with presentations, homework, group shoots to be added in, likely at LEAST twice a month, image critiques, and an expectation that you are willing to put in the work to elevate your photography significantly.
