Sometimes it’s choreographed — uniforms, queues, synchronized movement. Sometimes it’s accidental — a row of crates, a sea of matching umbrellas, three people checking their phones in the same posture. Repetition brings structure to an image, but it also brings energy. And often, it's the **one thing that breaks the repetition** that makes the shot work — the one person out of line, the one object that doesn’t belong. Patterns are an inevitable part of repetition. Hi there everybody! We invite you all to come enjoy Peng Chau island and our next movie night on 25th of January. This time we will watch our first Brazilian movie. The country is Brazil and the movie is called 'Bacurau' (2019) from directors Kleber Mendonça Filhos and Juliano Dornelles: Bacurau, a small town in the Brazilian sertão, mourns the loss of its matriarch, Carmelita, who lived to be 94. Days later, its inhabitants notice that their community has vanished from most maps. The movie will have English subtitles. If you want to watch a Brazilian movie for the first time come and enjoy! We will start the movie at 7pm till 9pm in a terrace in Peng Chau. There is a ferry at 5:50pm from Central Pier N6 and arrives in Peng Chau at 6:30pm. My place is very close to the pier. I can meet people at the pier at 6:30pm. Or if you want to spend the day in Peng Chau and meet each other afterwards that's also fine!
