⨠**HOW DOES IT WORK?**
We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. After that, we split you up into small groups and start with the conversation rounds (with 3-4 people). We'll have awesome question cards that will guide the flow of the conversation. **⨠FAQ**
**⢠Can I come alone?**
Of course, everyone does!
**⢠Can I be late?**
Please don't! Late arrivals will disrupt the floooooooow.

We usually get a high volume of sign-ups, yet we like keeping it cozy & only invite around 30 people. Please try again next time if you do not receive an invite - no hard feelings
**⢠Is this a networking or dating event?**
Nope! Think of us as the *anti-networking* and *anti-speed dating* event. Thereâs no pressure, no pitches, and no cringy icebreakers. Instead, we create spaces where strangers can connect through fun & meaningful conversations. Itâs all about authentic connection, no business cards or romantic expectations required. Open Dharma Budapest - Free Meditation in a Teahouse
Open Dharma Budapest is a friendly meditation sangha for anyone interested in meditation. Every Sunday we gather for 1â1.5 hours at a local tea house to sit together, share, and support each other on the path.
What to expect: Each session begins with a 20-minute silent sit, followed by an open, voluntary sharing of our experiences â a space to process what arises in practice, together.
Attention: This is not a guided meditation class. We explore a range of techniques rooted in TheravÄda Buddhism, with a modern and pragmatic approach - open to both seasoned practitioners and complete beginners.
Your host: Sessions are hosted by Maria East, a long-term practitioner of TheravÄda, VajrayÄna, and Dzogchen, with over 10 silent retreats over the last 5 years. Maria is also a clinical psychologist in training, who is happy to offer additional support if practice brings up anything challenging.
You're welcome to enjoy a cup of tea before the session ([Menu](https://okuma.space/menu/)). Please [book here ](https://okuma.resos.com)and come earlier if you wish so (for tea).
[PLEASE RSVP HERE ](https://okuma.space/event/open-dharma-budapest-free-meditation-2/)to receive further instructions on how to get in for the Meditation.
Beginner/Intermediate Guitar Class
Looking forward to see you again this Sunday!
Tea and sweets are served right after the class to socialize and chat about random things. And of course I'm ready to answer your questions.
**General description of the class:**
Our class is open both for complete beginners, as well as intermediate players who want to level up their skills.
We will have enough time to cover the basics (for newcomers), discuss what we would like to improve and get playing! I also speak Hungarian, so if there is anyone who doesnât understand English, I will translate on the go.
Any newcomers are welcome and I will help you to get started and develop together with others.
**What to bring:**
* A pen and notebook, so you can take notes as needed.
* Guitar (if you don't have one, you can use mine during the class, but definitely you should get a guitar later if you want to learn guitar properly).
This event is totally **free of charge**, **but I appreciate donations, which helps me, the organizer, to cover the bills. Recommended donation: 2,500 HUF.**
Feel free to **bring your friends**. We have enough space!
**I recommend joining our Telegram channel** to get notified about announcements or any cancellations: https://t.me/budapestGuitarClub
Danube Canoe Trip
We will meet, arrive at the location, and collect the equipment.
Then weâll have a safety briefing and basic paddling instruction.
After that, weâll launch the boats and practice a little in the bay. Children must wear life jackets. Adults who can swim may choose not to wear them, but must still keep them in the canoe.
We will paddle downstream, go around the cape, and enter the so-called dead branch â where there is almost no current. Weâll see swans, ducks, herons, and other birds. In sunny weather, we may spot turtles. There is also a chance to encounter an otter or even a roe deer on the shore.
On the way back, weâll pass through a narrow channel in the reeds and then under the hanging branches of fairytale-like trees. And for sure, we will definitely meet the crocodile!
The total route is 9 km â an ideal distance for beginners. Weâll have lunch in a meadow, and the children will be able to play and swim in the bay.
Early booking â until June 11: 16,000 HUF/person

Until June 12, 14:00: 18,000 HUF

Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code - Alan Barber
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code*
Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs.
In this session, weâll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. Weâll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling.
The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. Weâll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options.

**PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT NOTES:**
1. The dates for this series are simply placeholders at the moment. We are working on our 2026 schedule, and adjustments are forthcoming.
2. Each class in this series has an attendance fee.
3. Each class, from BOTH a sign-up and fee perspective, is a separate entity.

As we write this, the Etch toolset and environment are rapidly taking shape, with weekly quantum leaps forward in WordPress development methodologies. As early investors in the Etch product offering and its development process, we are actively testing and evaluating the toolset as it takes shape. We are beyond excited to see how WordPress site development is being modernized, and can't wait to bring this course set to you. It will be a paradigm shift in page and site development within WordPress, as well as moving your development mindset light-years forward.
Join us as we explore Etch and dive deep into development approaches that will genuinely elevate your craft as a website developer and agency provider. Scalable, responsive, compliant websites are now within easy reach, and Etch provides both the platform and toolset to take you there.

Smart Search + AI: An Outcome-Driven Journey from IDP to a Suite of AI
Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans.
We created Smart Search, the worldâs largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping whatâs possible. Since then, weâve built a suite of AIâdriven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomesâaccelerating benefits decisions for our Nationâs Veterans.
Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcomeâdriven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served.
This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation.
