He is working on a distribution of Kubeflow to facilitate machine learning workflows on Kubernetes-based systems. **2nd talk:** "ingress-nginx is archived: How we migrated to kgateway (and Didn’t Break Prod)" by [Konstantinos Stavropoulos](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kostavro/) **Abstract:** With ingress-nginx being archived in March 2026, Plum's SRE team used it as an opportunity to migrate to kgateway - a CNCF-backed Gateway API implementation chosen after benchmarking several alternatives. The 12-week migration relied on running both controllers in parallel, building custom Loki-based observability before cutover, and using staging to catch breaking differences like stricter path matching and a shorter default timeout. The result was zero production incidents and zero customer-facing downtime across all migrated services. **Presenter:** Konstantinos Stavropoulos is the SRE Lead at Plum, where he leads the team responsible for the reliability and evolution of the company's infrastructure. With a background spanning fintech, cybersecurity, and logistics across Greece and the Netherlands, he specialises in Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, and security - with a proven track record of leading complex migrations from legacy stacks to modern, cloud-native architectures. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. Gardening for Butterflies Talk and Walk with Butterfly Ridge Saturday, July 18, 2026 Join Chris Kline from Butterfly Ridge for a presentation on gardening for butterflies and a walking tour of Infirmary Mound Park, looking for butterflies, discussing their importance, and how to make butterfly-friendly improvements to residential landscapes. Meet at the James Bradley Center. Christopher Kline’s interest in butterflies began in 1997 when he began tagging Monarch butterflies in Indiana. Since 1997, he has tagged thousands of Monarchs, co-founded the Central Arizona Butterfly Association, and founded the Southwest Monarch Study. He has also served as the Butterfly Specialist at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. He now is the Director of Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center in Rockbridge, Ohio where he and his wife have converted 21 acres of fields and forests into butterfly friendly habitats and have quintupled the butterfly population in the process. He has authored several books including A Field Guide to Tropical Butterflies of American Conservatories, Butterfly Gardening with Native Plants, Butterfly Rider, Moths of Butterfly Ridge, and the Beginner’s Guide to Mothing.
