Once we get there, we'll ask for coffee/tea and get ready to embark on our creative journey! The art-making process will serve as a bridge for social and creative communication, and the theme will be centered around traveling and the things that make us vibrate. We'll start by using imagery, storytelling, and moving freely between drawing and writing to collage. We'll also work collaboratively, with each collaborator adding to a composition in sequence, allowing creativity to flow as we play. The main objective is self-expression, awakening creativity, having fun, and sharing a nice time together while colors and words come together to empower the artistic experience. I will guide you in the right direction to create something that you may have never thought of on your own, and you can take your own pace with art and bring it back home. This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists. Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.
