Du wirst in diesem lockeren Kunstgeschichte Kurs direkt vor den Originalen Meisterwerken im Kunsthistorischen Museum Wien einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Epochen der Kunstgeschichte von der Kunst des Mittelalters bis ins 18. Jahrhundert bekommen und wirst fortan Kunst in allen Ausstellungen anders sehen und verstehen und Zusammenhänge besser erkennen können. Jede Woche wenden wir uns einer Epoche zu und einem der wichtigsten Werke von einem der bedeutendsten Künstler im Kunsthistorischen Museum. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich, der Kurs ist aber auch für Fortgeschrittene gut besuchbar. Alles wird in lockerem Beisammensein vor den Bildern stattfinden, anschließend stehen das wunderschöne Café in der Kuppelhalle im Museum und die vielen netten Lokale in nächster Nähe für weiteres Beisammensein zur Verfügung und natürlich kann man auch einfach noch weiter alleine oder mit alten und den neuen Bekannten sich selbständig im Museum noch mehr anschauen. Hello there! We'd like to welcome you to our FREE Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Wolfgang, Hamid, Anil, Shantanu & friends which take place in Vienna – 7pm Thursdays. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. For example, some groups attract younger people, others older folk; some groups have a lot of people who are wealthy, or people who live in a certain part of town. Arnold Schönberg (1874–1951) was one of the most significant figures in the creative world in the first half of the 20th century. Following in the tradition of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Mahler, the Austrian (and, after his immigration to New York and later Los Angeles, also US-American) composer, music theorist, teacher, and writer reshaped the practice of harmony in classical music. Some of Schönberg’s most famous contributions were the development of his twelve-tone-method and his attention to sound color (Klangfarbe), both of which strongly influenced generations of composers up until today. But Schönberg’s creative world goes beyond music. He was a designer, painter, inventor, and systems thinker: building tools and furniture, binding books, designing stage sets and costumes, inventing machines, and even building his own chess set, for four players. In this meetup, we explore Schönberg through a UX lens: what can his way of thinking, making, and problem-solving teach us about design, tools, and user experience today? We will also look at the museum and concert space as an experience that unfolds through the perception of an audience. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
