@ Anna Blume - A cozy book swap and chat meetup!
The "classical" bookswap is simple:
* We meet in a café and put the book(s) we brought down on the tables.
* We browse and discuss the books with one another while sipping coffee or hot chocolate, or eating cake.
* We write our names down on any books we’d like to take home (post-its and pens provided).
* At the end of the evening, negotiate any books that are contended and take a new-to-you book home!
Books/happiness shared are books/happiness multiplied! A Bookswap is 10 times better than a Book Club because you can talk about ALL the books instead of just one!
This is a great way to give your books a new home and make room for new books: that book you feel guilty for not having read even though it's been sitting on your bedside table for the last 5 years, the book you liked but didn't love, the book you loved so much you want everyone to read it, the book you somehow own three copies of, that book you absolutely hated even though everyone else loves it, and so on.
Moreover, you will meet fellow readers, get a new book or two, and several book recommendations. We’ve often had readers experience books they wouldn't normally buy and enjoy it.
GROUP EXPECTATIONS for PLEASANT SWAPPING
* Please bring a book! It's not that you bring one you take one, but do try your best to bring something.
* Books stay on the tables, open for sharing, until you are ready to leave so that everyone can have a look. We are notably not first come first serve. Please wait until you are leaving to bag the book.
* If two or more people want the only copy of a book, negotiate. Maybe one of you reads it first and then gives it to the others. Or perhaps they have found another book instead. Or leave it to fate and toss a coin. The best part: now you have found somebody whose taste you can really admire. In any case, please don't walk away with a book with several names on it without letting the others know.
These negotiations are fun and easy, so don't shy away from a book because there's already a name on it, and feel free to put your name on as many books as you find interesting. It's not that you bring one you take one; you may take as many as you can negotiate.
* Political discussions with consent: make sure the people you are talking to would like to have a political discussion with you.
* Please respect this space as first and foremost a community for connecting readers over their love of books and reading, stories, and narratives of all sorts. Please be respectful of tastes and opinions.
* If something is bothering you, please reach out to the organizers, and we'll do our best to resolve it.
* Lastly, don't expect your book back. It will find a new home. If you love it, let it go.
Major LANGUAGES (and genres) of this meetup: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian; Fiction, Non-Fiction, Serious Reading, Light Fun, “classics", Krimis, Booker winners, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Self-Help and more. You never know who can read what languages, and there's no accounting for taste.
We are a delightful and international group of readers.
We look forward to swapping with you!

Sometimes People Are Shit
Have you ever seen a comedian before and thought you yourself, "Boy, oh boy, I'd sure love to give that guy a piece of my mind!" or, "Gee-whizz that was not bad at all!" or "Fuck this person." well then **this is the show for you!**
**Sometimes People Are Shit is a show where comedians try out seven minutes of new material that nobody has ever heard before**. Maybe. That I can't quite guarantee but once their sets are over you, the people, get to give your feedback to the comedian. It could be good, it could be bad, but it will always be constructive!
**Show starts at 22.00 sharp**. Get there nice and early for some good pre-gaming booze and tell your friends to tell their friends and so on, and so on.

I WRITE – A Silent Writing Club (Just You & Your Words)
Welcome to **I WRITE**, a gentle space for anyone who wants to write—quietly, freely, and without judgement.
We are a Berlin community of writers who gather together weekly to write, talk and recharge after a long week. Some of us journal, some write novels, some do academic writing, many people come without a project in mind and see where the inspiration flow takes them. This is a space to simply show up and write, a safe place to be yourself and to release all your layers onto the paper.
There’s no set topic, no feedback circle, and no pressure. Just warm people, a calm atmosphere, and time dedicated to yourself.
🗓️ **Agenda:**
* 14:30 - 15:00 **→** 30 min arriving, optional socialising (arrive early, meet other writers)
* 15:00 - 16:00 **→** 1 hour of silent writing (headphones welcome, focus encouraged)
* 16:00–16:30 **→** 30 mins break + optional chat or solo time (stay and chat or go celebrate the rest of your Saturday)
* 16:30–17:30 → 1 more hour of silent writing (for those staying)
* 17:30–18:00 → 30 mins of chat, and leaving
🎒 **Bring:**
* Something to write with (laptop, notebook, phone, typewriter… anything goes)
* Something to drink (there is no cafeteria, unfortunately)
* Your current project or a blank page
* Yourself, exactly as you are
**👉 Responsibility:**
* Our location is limited; thus, I am kindly asking you to RSVP only if you are willing to attend.
**📍Location:**
* We meet at **Heinrich Schulz Library in Charlottenburg**. In the library, go look for the Gruppenraum; I will be waiting for you there. Any trouble finding the room, I will come to meet you outside.
* 🚇 U7 **Richard-Wagner-Platz**
* 🚌 M45 Bus **U Richard-Wagner-Platz**
**About me:**
Hi, my name is Anastasia. I started this writing club back in May 2025. Since then, it has been hosted weekly at the Heinrich Schulz Library (who is kind enough to allow us to use this room for free). Over this time, I’ve been privileged to meet some of the most creative and kind minds in Berlin. And I would be happy if you joined us. Whether you're an experienced writer or just at the beginning of your journey, you're welcome. If you know how to hold a pen or how to type, there will always be a space for you.
Let's write together!
Kreative Schreibwerkstatt in Kreuzberg (14:30 Uhr!)
72, nahe U-Bhf Moritzplatz.**
**Was dich erwartet:**
Creating Stories Together
Ever thought, "I like writing, but sometimes I wish I could create stories with people instead of alone"? In this meetup we'll be taking a little creative journey together. In small groups we'll be creating basic character sketches together and then we'll play around with these characters in stories with a little bit of randomness and some prompting.
It's going to be a mix of a lot of talking and a bit of writing. Mostly, it's going to be fun, collaborative and pretty fast-paced.
Because we're building each step of this together, there's no "minimum requirement" for writing or storytelling experience. You just need to be keen to be collaborative and imaginative with other people. There's a thought-out set of guidelines to steer us for the event, so you don't have to worry about what to do and can just focus on being creative.
I'll bring everything you need, so you don't need to bring anything.
We'll start at **15h00 sharp -** so please get to Cafe Augusta earlier; I'll be there from 14h30. We'll be done by 16h30 at the latest. I'll put a little sign on the table that says "Creating Stories Together".
**Please only RSVP if you will definitely come.** Spaces are limited and I need to reserve a table for enough people. Please cancel your RSVP at least 48h before if you can't make it.
The event will be in English.
The Mindful Artist's Way: Change of perspectives
The Mindful Artist's Way is suitable for anyone who wants to write — without pressure, comparison, or the need for perfection. For anyone who wants to discover their own voice or reconnect with it.
This workshop series treats your writing as a mindful and relationship-oriented process. Each session is an invitation to dive deeper into your own perception, voice, and creativity — without pressure to perform, without comparison, without right or wrong.
The focus is on writing as a mindful practice: slow, embodied, and connected. Instead of technique, performance, or optimization, it’s about perception, inner security, and the relationship to your own voice.
Each workshop is self-contained and at the same time part of a larger journey. Step by step, you are invited to build trust: in yourself, in your writing, and in the creative process.
The series is inspired by the mindful and artistic approaches of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, but follows its own path: gentle, individual, and realistic. Get to know your writing as a partner rather than just a product.
What to bring: All you need is your laptop or whatever else you want to write on. I have pens, paper, tea, and vegan cake for you. If you like, bring your headphones, because I’ve created an exclusive writing playlist for you.
You can also book the **sessions individually (€15)**

**Become Visible and Stick With It: Share Your Story And Strengthen Your Relationship With Your Writing**
Change Of Perspective: Writing From Unusual Angles
*Do you feel like all your texts sound the same, or are you simply stuck in a writing rut? You’re in good company—but it doesn’t have to stay that way! In this writing workshop, you’ll consciously shift your perspective and watch your stories come to life (again), perhaps even surprising you in the process.*
Instead of telling everything from your usual perspective, you try out new points of view: you write from other people’s voices, observe like a camera, slip into characters, things, or places. With playful exercises, short moments of mindfulness, and guided writing prompts, you break away from „this is how I always write“ and find completely new approaches to your texts.
You don’t need any finished ideas, a „perfect style,“ or talent. Just curiosity and a desire to experiment.
**The workshop will help you:**
* Overcome writer’s block
* Find new perspectives for your writing
* Write more creatively and boldly
* Break out of stuck patterns
* Create lively, multi-layered stories
* Rediscover the joy and ease of writing
Through several playful writing phases, reflection, and exchange, you will learn that sometimes all it takes is a new perspective—and a whole new story emerges.
This workshop is part 4 of the workshop series „The Mindful Artist’s Way“ and can be booked individually or as part of a package. It’s never too late to join, and each workshop is self-contained and effective on its own.
All you need is yourself + a laptop or pen and paper. If you like to write with music in your ears, feel free to bring headphones—I’ve prepared a playlist for you. It’s best to wear something comfortable so that you can move freely and feel completely at ease.
**Participation fee: €15**

SU&W Sunday, in-person at Schöneberg
Hello fellow writers,
This is our Sunday meet-up at café Peppe.
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write!
There will be two sessions of writing, each lasting 45 minutes, and two breaks.
\- The first writing session will start at 10:45 am\.
\- Second session will start at 11:45 am\.
PS: We have limited space of 18 peoples. Please sign up accordingly.
See you all on Sunday.
SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 11:15.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**. We often have a large waiting list, and not updating your RSVP or not showing up if you do RSVP yes means that others miss out. We also ask that if you do change your RSVP, do it with reasonable notice. Thanks! We typically take over all of the cafe, but try to share tables if you can to allow space for other customers.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
