***SPEAKER BIOS & TOPICS:***
**Thomas Bolander**, PhD, is a professor at [DTU Compute](https://www.compute.dtu.dk/). His main research focus is on the modelling of social phenomena and social intelligence with the aim of creating explainable computer systems that can interact robustly and intelligently with humans and other computer systems.
He is one of the founders and main researchers within the area of *Epistemic Planning* \- providing AI agents\, e\.g\. robots\, with the ability to take the perspective of other agents into account when planning\.
He is also one of the central public communicators of AI in Denmark with several hundreds of popular science talks and media appearances. In 2019, he received the H.C. Ørsted award for excellence in science communication. In 2024, he received the DAIR "Lifetime achievement in AI" award for his research and research communication.
Topic: Intentions, attention and social intelligence. Human social intelligence relies heavily on our ability to infer what others intend to do or what their focus of attention is. Fluent human-robot interaction requires robots to have similar abilities. But how to give them that? What are the relevant paradigms and methods within AI, and what can we learn from philosophy and cognitive psychology to help us built more socially intelligent and situation-aware robots for the future?

Fake news, generated AI and the future of “reality”
**Truth, Trust, Technology, and a World You Can’t Quite Verify**
We’re entering a time where seeing is no longer believing. AI can generate voices, faces, videos, articles—and entire narratives—almost indistinguishable from reality. When everything can be fabricated perfectly, what happens to truth, trust, and our shared sense of what’s real?
This isn’t a media literacy workshop or a tech lecture. It’s a philosophical conversation about reality itself in an age of artificial generation.
***
**Topics we’ll touch on:**
* When AI can fake anything, does “truth” still exist in a meaningful way?
* Deepfakes, synthetic news, and the erosion of shared facts
* Is reality becoming personalized—different for each of us?
* Who decides what is real: humans, algorithms, platforms, or states?
* Can democracy survive without a common understanding of truth?
* Are we heading toward radical skepticism—or digital authoritarianism?
* And finally… how do we live well when certainty itself starts to dissolve?
Casual discussion. No technical background needed. Just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to question what you think you know. Whether you feel worried, intrigued, or strangely detached from it all—you’re not alone.
Let’s question the images, the stories—and maybe even our own assumptions about reality.
Climbing @ Bison
**Hi everyone** 👋
I’m David, and I’d love to start a social bouldering club for anyone who wants to climb, hang out, and meet new people!
I will arrange a meetup climbing event every 2nd week or once a month, at different climbing gyms around the city.
The focus is on:
• 🧗♂️ Climbing and challenging ourselves
• 🤝 Being social and building a fun community
• 💪 Training together – all levels welcome
I’ve been climbing for about 1.5 years, so I’m still in my learning phase, but I’m more than happy to help beginners get started and share the basics with anyone who’s new.
We will start at **Bison in the meatpacking district the 21 February @ 14.00** o’clock. If people want, we can go for a drink or a bit of food afterwards.
There will be a warm up and cool down, focusing on climbing and mobility. If you want to join in on that, otherwise drop in when ever.
If you’re interested in joining, just drop a comment.
Looking forward to climbing with you all! 🙌
**Short Overview of Boulder Gyms in Copenhagen and bouldering is:**
**Beta Boulders**
A modern and friendly gym with lots of different wall styles. Great for both beginners and experienced climbers, and there’s a nice training area as well.
**Bison Boulders**
Located a bit outside the city, but very relaxed and welcoming. Good variety of routes and plenty of space. A calm, nice atmosphere.
**Boulders CPH**
One of the biggest and most popular bouldering gyms in Copenhagen. Many routes for all levels and a very social environment.
**What Is Bouldering?**
Bouldering is a type of climbing done at low heights — usually up to around 4–5 meters — **without ropes or harnesses**. Instead, there are thick mats on the floor for safety.
You only need climbing shoes, which you can rent, and maybe some chalk for your hands.
Climbs are short “problems” or routes that you try to solve using balance, technique, and strength. Some are easy, some are challenging, and you can always choose the level that fits you.
Bouldering is also very social — people often help each other, share tips, cheer each other on, and have fun together. It’s perfect for meeting new people while getting a good workout.

Fun Friday: EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT at Lennox Phoenix Theater!
Join us for something different as we get together to see EPIC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT! While researching his 2022 film, director Bas Luhrmann came across and compiled rare and previously unseen interviews and videos of Elvis in concert to create “one of the most exciting concert films you’ve ever seen!” Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: Part documentary, part concert film, the latest from director Bas Luhrmann is a follow-up to his 2022 film starring Austin Butler. While researching the film, he came across 68 boxes of previously unseen interviews, concert performances and outtakes from previous films. A combination of offstage and onstage Elvis, comes a film that “befits the magnitude of Elvis as a performer but also offers deeper revelations of his humanity and inner life." It is written/directed by Baz Luhrmann (ELVIS, MOULIN ROUGE, THE GREAT GATSBY) and stars the legendary Elvis Presley!
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmqWusmzp0k
BUZZ AND ACCLAIM: The film screened at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival where it was the runner up in the category People’s Choice Award for Documentaries. Next Best Picture says, “Certain to energize longtime fans and generate new ones for generations to come, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is a masterwork of montage.” And according to the NY Post, whether you have a room in the house devoted to Elvis or not, this truly “Epic” concert film is an energizing experience!”
PLAN: We’ll plan for a pre-show bite at nearby BRAVO around 5 or 5:30pm followed by a 7pm-ish showing on one of their larger screens. Once showtime is announced, advance ticket purchase is advised. Please list your seat number in the Comments below. Exact showtime and meeting details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for February is "Transitions"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
