Introduction to Argentine Tango

Learn about real tango, the dance of connection!
Real tango is a conversation. Two people, close together, listening to each other through embrace, weight and breath.
The leader proposes. The follower responds. The dance emerges from that - improvised, alive, completely in the present moment.
It is one of the most direct ways I know to practice both body and mind.
In this introductory evening, you'll learn the basic structure of the embrace and a few simple steps.
More importantly, you'll begin to feel what tango is actually about: connection. To your own body first, then to another person.
You don't need a partner. You don't need dance experience.
You need comfortable shoes with a smooth sole and an open mind.
I've been dancing tango for years, and I come to it from the same place I come to everything else I teach: the body knows things the mind doesn't. Tango is one of the ways we learn to trust that.
Partners are rotated during class so you practice with everyone.

And in case that doesnât really tell you what to expect, just think short intervals of exercise combined together in a playful and interactive way to help you strengthen your body in a sustainable way while allowing you to meet new people (and often even forget how hard youâre working out).
As a reminder for those nervous about their fitness level: Everything we do, we do with all fitness levels in mind; so the exercises are always adjustable to your level and youâre always strongly encouraged to take it at your own pace - I mean, weâre not called My Pace for nothing!

Cost: In the interest of inclusivity, we've decided to make our sessions donations based here, so you're invited to pay what you can afford. The money is secondary.
One other thing thatâs useful to know:
- In the case of bad weather, we do have a back-up location that will protect us from the rain. Should we need to move, we will change the location of this event here. We'd like to welcome you to our FREE Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Wolfgang, Hamid, Anil, Shantanu & friends which take place in Vienna â 7pm Thursdays.
With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required.
We are all volunteers of a Charity association and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it â everyone!. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation.
We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body.
The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future.

They are excited to bring their lively jigs and reels, a couple of flowing waltzes, and the occasional musical surprise to the All Soles contra dancers!**
