We'll visit the Troxy cinema that brought the West End to the East where the staff wore evening dress and sprayed the foyer with perfume and where Vera Lynn made her debut almost a hundred years ago. We'll see the site of the hospice dating back to the middle ages, one of the oldest tunnels under water in the world built to take the goods from dock to dock, the basin for goods to travel around the country on the canal and London's original Chinatown. The city was full of salacious talk of opium and young white women sold into sex slavery immortalised in the Fu Manchu stories; the middle classes were as much scandalised as intrigued. Come along, hear them again and be scandalised! Finally we'll visit Hawksmoor's grand St Anne's church and find out its role in the Blitz. The cost is £12. To teach at out event we are inviting a former international ballet pro to show the elements of Ballet, Pilates, Stretching, to develop a core strength, flexibility and a great posture, as well as mentally linking muscle memory, so the gains on posture are immediate and easily remembered. You will need to bring a smile, some water and wear comfortable exercise cloths. The class will be 60 minutes which should be more than enough to get those muscles worked & conditioned. Despite yourself you shout for your lost followers, only to be answered by inhuman howls...* The snows are beginning to recede, revealing the shattered ruins of **Frostgrave** — a once-great city of wizard-kings, buried for centuries beneath ice and legend. Now rival sorcerers return, leading warbands into the frozen streets in search of lost spells, ancient artefacts, and forgotten power. This series is **a beginner-friendly Frostgrave Campaign running through this spring**. New joiners are more than welcome! Players will begin with a **Level 0 wizard and a 400gc warband**, venturing into the ruins to gather treasure, gain experience, and grow in power as the campaign unfolds. Most games during the campaign will be played as **multiplayer (3-4 player free-for-all) matches**, creating plenty of opportunities for **XP, gold, and some secret campaign bonuses**. Expect spellcasting, treasure hunting, wandering monsters, and plenty of wizard duels among the ruins. **New players are very welcome.** If you’ve never played Frostgrave before, this event is the perfect place to start.
