🥾 Lee Trail Hike: Hoscheid → Kautenbach 🌲 Join us for another beautiful stage of the Lee Trail, one of the most scenic long-distance hiking routes in Luxembourg. This section takes us from Hoscheid to Kautenbach, through the rolling hills and deep forest valleys of the Éislek region. The trail offers a great mix of forest paths, panoramic viewpoints, and peaceful nature. Along the way we will pass through the dramatic landscapes of the Our and Clerve valleys, with several opportunities to enjoy stunning views over the surrounding hills. This hike is moderate but still sporty, making it ideal for people who enjoy a longer walk in nature. 📍 Hike Details • Start: Hoscheid -> bus stop „Kräizgaass“ • End: Kautenbach • Distance: ~15 km • Duration: about 5 hours (including breaks) • Elevation gain: ~430 m • Elevation loss: ~650 m • Difficulty: Moderate 🎒 What to bring • Good hiking shoes • Enough water • Snacks or lunch • Weather-appropriate clothing ℹ️ Additional information We will walk at a comfortable pace with short breaks to enjoy the scenery. Hi everyone — we just recently passed the 20 members milestone. I'm super excited to discover there are so many people curious about Clojure and functional programming in Luxembourg! What I propose as our next steps is to try to schedule our Meetup #1 in the next 4–8 weeks (end of February - March, after-work/in the week-end, 60–90 min). If we maintain an average speed of about 18km/hour and have a total stop time of 90 minutes (including 1 hour dining at the lake), we can finish the ride in 5 hours and 30 minutes. **Getting home from finishing point (Diekirch gare)** There are trains from Diekirch to Luxembourg Gare every 30 minutes. Join us for a fun and welcoming Hike & Mexican Brunch in Diekirch on Saturday, 14 March 🌿🥾 We’ll start the day with a refreshing hike in and around Diekirch, enjoy the spring air, good conversation, and beautiful scenery, and then head to Cafe Miche for a relaxed brunch together. This is a community event organized by the Vegan Society Luxembourg, and everyone is welcome, whether you’re vegan or not. Please join us the 3rd Wednesday of each month to learn more about the Columbus Ski Club and what we have to offer. Pizza, wings and a variety of appetizers provided. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1958 with over 800 members. The club has grown beyond the single mission of providing members with not only quality skiing events but also year round social and sport activities. Our gatherings are an opportunity for members and non-members to interact and learn about the many activities offered such as euchre, billiards, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, bowling, golf & softball leagues along with ski and non-ski trips. Our members also plan group activities such as visits to wine tastings, bike trips, comedy clubs, concerts, plays and local sports games, etc. CSC membership is not required to belong to the Meetup group. Membership is required in order to participate in most club activities (CSC member). However, anyone (21 and over) is welcome at our meeting gatherings which consist of checking out our current activities and socializing. Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
