**For ages 17 and above.** There are two types of waltzes that are performed in most ballrooms - the Slow Waltz and the Viennese Waltz. The classical Viennese Waltz is a quick ballroom dance that involves the dancers swirling around the whole dance floor, seemingly without touching the ground. The slightly easier Slow Waltz is a favourite dance among beginners and social dancers. **For ages 14 and above.** Cha Cha is a fun and lively dance that gets your heart pumping on the dance floor. It's similar to Mambo and Rumba, although it replaces the “slow step” of both dances with a triple step. **For ages 10 and above.** Tap is a popular style of American theatrical dance distinguished by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor. Dancers develop a keen sense of rhythm and balance. **For ages 14 and above.** Rumba is one of the most erotic and sensual of all the Latin dance styles due to its slow rhythms and hip movements that create intense bodily expressions. Its slower, smooth and continuous hip actions, known as the ‘Cuban movement’, give it a romantic and sensual feel. Stylized strides dominate this dance, along with periodical sharp and staccato movements. Tango’s passionate nature evokes a strong connection to the music, your partner and the audience, a dance that is exciting and often easy to learn. Learn body isolations and hiphop basics, together with a simple dance routine. The dance routine is taught step by step, combined into a full routine. P.S. We practice, dance, and enjoy a BYOB bottle of your favorite wine at the Dublin Ballroom off Sawmill, North, and “milonga” is a social event for tango dancing where dancers socialize. A “*practica*” is an informal social event for tango dancing where dancers focus on practicing the dance; while a “*practilonga*” combines the relaxed atmosphere of a “*practica*” with the format of a “milonga.” We are doing it all! ***Cost is $10 payable to the Teacher.*** *Cost is for the cost of the venue and covers some snacks.* We have had fun doing this event in the past. Please arrive promptly as lessons begin at 2pm. Don't worry about bringing a partner as there will be others at the event from outside the group that: a) might have a clue and b) won't step on your toes. The event is BYOB (similar to our Salsa events), so bring your favorite and a wine glass. We will likely find a place for dinner and drinks after the dance.
