DIY • CRAFTS • OUTDOOR GEAR REPAIR - Work on your project & meet new friends
We meet in the park surrounding Liberation Square, from 13:00. \*\*\* This group is for people who enjoy hands-on projects and spending time outdoors. Whether you’re into bushcraft, camping, kayaking, or simply being in nature, it’s a place to repair, customize, and create the gear you use on your adventures. Bring any project you like - big or small. That could mean fixing a leaking sleeping pad, patching up a packraft, reinforcing your backpack, sewing extra pockets, or maintaining your gear so it lasts longer. It can also be more creative: sketching in a travel journal, carving, sculpting, or working on portable crafts you enjoy bringing into nature. The goal is simple: meet up, share ideas and skills, and enjoy making and repairing together in a relaxed, welcoming environment. You don’t need to be highly experienced in outdoor activities or travel to join, the group is open to everyone. **Although the focus of the group is on outdoor sports, travel, and nature expeditions, you’re absolutely welcome to join even if the projects or crafts you work on are completely unrelated. Sometimes you just want company, conversation, and a relaxed space to work on your own ideas alongside other people.** Feel free to bring any extra materials, tools, or gear you no longer need - they might find a second life with another participant. This initiative is part of a larger creative and social project - Sketchy Collective. We’re just getting started, experimenting with different meetup formats and creative projects. We’d love for you to follow along for future events, and share your own ideas for meetups or activities you’d like to see us organize. instagram.com/sketchy.collective facebook.com/sketchy.collective meetup.com/sketchy-collective-international

(You may see an incorrect time in the Meetup app due to timezone setting issues.)** \*\*\* **HOW TO FIND US** We're meeting at Talks & Giggles café/confectionery on Sunday at 15:00 (Sarajevo local time). If the weather is nice, you'll find us sitting outside. Location below: Hamdije Kreševljakovića 61 https://maps.app.goo.gl/t73F8ocdxNKnxkBH7 VC4G+J6 Sarajewo \*\*\* **HOW IT WORKS** At each meetup, participants take turns posing for a quick 10-minute sketch session. One person poses, everyone else sketches, then we rotate. There are no fees and no pressure (**just please order something from the café**). The only thing we ask is that everyone takes a turn posing for the group. Sit however you’re comfortable — those 10 minutes fly by! Draw as much as you like, skip a round if you’d rather rest or chat, and stay for as long as it suits you. The session goes on as long as people are enjoying themselves. \*\*\* **WHAT TO BRING** Pencils and paper (or any sketching tools you prefer). \*\*\* **STAYING CONNECTED** We have a WhatsApp group for staying in touch and sharing updates. Ask the organizer to add you to the WhatsApp group during the meetup.

**Our June novel is: *The Eights* by Joanna Miller** **This month’s novel is set during World War I. It’s a 20th-century historical fiction story about friendship and war, with coming-of-age elements and a slightly haunted tone. The book is 384 pages in print and 10 hours and 9 minutes on audiobook.** Oxford, 1920. For the first time in its one-thousand-year history, Oxford University officially admits female students. Burning with dreams of equality, four young women move into neighboring rooms in Corridor 8. Beatrice, Dora, Marianne, and Otto—collectively known as The Eights—come from all walks of life, each driven by their own motives, each holding tight to their secrets, and are thrown into an unlikely, unshakable friendship. Dora was never meant to go to university, but, after losing both her brother and her fiancé on the battlefield, has arrived in their place. Politically-minded Beatrice, daughter of a famous suffragette, sees Oxford as a chance to make her own way - and some friends her own age. Otto was a nurse during the war but is excited to return to her socialite lifestyle in Oxford where she hopes to find distraction from the memories that haunt her. And finally Marianne, the quiet, clever daughter of a village pastor, who has a shocking secret she must hide from everyone, even her new friends, if she is to succeed. Among the historic spires, and in the long shadow of the Great War, the four women must navigate and support one another in a turbulent world in which misogyny is rife, influenza is still a threat, and the ghosts of the Great War don’t always remain dead.

Welcome, readers! Our June read is ***Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible*** ***Voyage*** **by Alfred Lansing.** A work of nonfiction, and one of the most astonishing survival stories in history, we follow Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew after their ship is crushed by Antarctic ice. Stranded in one of the harshest environments on Earth, the men endure months of isolation, freezing temperatures, and near starvation—yet refuse to give up hope. Lansing brings their ordeal to life through vivid detail and firsthand accounts, capturing both the brutality of nature and the resilience of the human spirit. At its core, the story is a powerful testament to leadership, perseverance, and the unbreakable will to survive against impossible odds. Looking forward to discussing with everyone! We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **all** **drinks must be purchased at the bar.** Happy reading! 📖

Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans. We created Smart Search, the world’s largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping what’s possible. Since then, we’ve built a suite of AI‑driven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomes—accelerating benefits decisions for our Nation’s Veterans. Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcome‑driven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served.
