***********
America brings The Happy Trails Tour 2026 to the Allan Slaight Stage at Massey Hall on Thursday, June 25.
We're excited to offer you the chance to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
America is a perennial classic-rock favorite who formed in 1970 and continue to deliver their timeless songs with powerful performances. They’ve now set their sights on the “The Happy Tails Tour 2026,” following last year’s 55th anniversary tour with acclaimed shows across the country. America met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song "A Horse With No Name." America became a global household name and paved the way with an impressive string of hits following the success of their first #1 single.
From their formative years, America has been a band capable of transcending borders with its uplifting music and positive message. Embracing a rainbow of divergent cultures, America's audiences continue to grow, comprising a loyal legion of first, second and third generation fans, all bearing testament to the group's enduring appeal.
Use presale code HORSE to buy tickets! Code is valid until Thursday, January 29 at 10pm.

Weekly on-water practice at Sunnyside

The listed start time is when the boat leaves the dock. Please allow plenty of time beforehand for traffic delays, getting changed, and warming up.
Stop Prompting. Start Orchestrating. Java + Agents: Context, Tokens, Workflows
Most of us are already using agentic coding in some form: Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or whatever new thing shipped this week.
This talk is about the next layer: where the industry is heading as agents take on larger chunks of software work, and what Java developers need to learn to stay ahead. We’ll focus on context management, token strategy, orchestration, Codex-style workflows, cost optimization, and the practical judgment required to use these systems without losing the plot.
The goal is to move beyond intro demos and into the real skill stack: knowing what to delegate, how to frame goals, how to keep agents grounded in larger codebases, how to get more value from fewer tokens, how to catch drift before it becomes damage, and how to verify output in a way that actually protects quality.
This is also a career talk, because the tools are improving too quickly for casual awareness to be enough. The developers who stay valuable will not just be the ones who “use AI”; they’ll be the ones who can direct, constrain, evaluate, and compound with agentic systems.
P.S. Due to popular demand, the slick Keynote animations are coming back.
**About the venue**
Free Times Cafe has bistro-style seating and a full food and drink menu. Please consider helping to support the venue by planning to have supper during the talk.

🏸 Early Morning Badminton
👋Hello folks, this is Manish!
I’m trying to build a daily habit of playing badminton in the early morning, and I’m scheduling this event for anyone who is interested in joining.
🏸 The idea is simple — start the day with energy, fitness, and a good game of badminton before work.
It’s a great way to stay active, refresh your mind, and carry that energy into work and everything else you do. Imagine showing up to work already feeling accomplished, energized, and in a great mood — that’s what a morning like this can do for you!

Whether you’re a seasoned player or have never picked up a racket before, you are welcome here. No pressure, just good vibes, friendly competition, and a whole lot of fun.
If you’re interested, feel free to join us! All skill levels are welcome. Let’s make mornings more active and fun! 💪🏸
💰 About the cost — just $5 per person!
That’s less than your morning coffee, and way more rewarding. For just $5, you get a full session of fun, fitness, and great company. It’s one of the best investments you can make in your health and your mornings. 🙌
