This is a Proof of Solidarity in the spirit of blockchain with other communities that are fighting for positive change through decentralized, leaderless coordination. What began in Novi Sad in 2024 following a tragic event that deeply affected Serbia soon grew into one of the most significant student-led civic movements in recent years. Join us at Crypto Ħub Malta for a screening of the movie Tura do Strazbura (Tour to Strasbourg), a documentary following Serbian students on their journey from Belgrade to Strasbourg in support of democracy, accountability, and institutional change in Serbia.This is the story of a bicycle tour, that became proof of solidarity across borders. A story of resilience, community, and shared purpose. Following the screening, we hope to host a short discussion with student participants and members of the Serbian community in Malta who support the student movement. The event is organized in coordination with the Serbian student movement (Studenti u blokadi) and supported by Malta uz studente, a self-organized network of members of the Serbian community in Malta that supports the movement and coordinates community initiatives, activities, and outreach efforts on the island.

Open Shelter has teamed up again with Red White and Boom! Friday, July 3rd & we are looking for volunteers to run the event’s alcohol booths. Proceeds from sales go to the Open Shelter’s organization. There are two available shifts: 12-6p & 5-11p. There will be an ipad-like device to process transactions in addition to cash. Everything will be in bottles or cans, so transactions should be very easy. Must be 21+. There are multiple beverage stations along the Civic Center Bridge. The stations are covered and also have beverage trucks next to them, so volunteers can cool off in the trucks. As far as parking, it is suggested those who are coming from the east use the Columbus Commons Garage, and those from the west use the Belle Street Garage.
