Speed Business Networking DIFC - Let's grow your business together!
IMPORTANT: If you RSVP, it is essential that you attend or update your RSVP status at least one day before the networking session. For an optimal networking experience, we need at least 20-25 participants. If you RSVP and do not attend, it is not fair to those who are punctual and turn up as they said they would. Please be mindful and only RSVP if you are confident you can attend.
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (PLEASE, BE ON TIME!)
Concrete Restaurant
Burj Daman Tower
DIFC, Dubai
Located on Ground Floor (VIEW MAP - https://maps.app.goo.gl/3u5DZgQrvJPLrv1U6)
**Parking:** 2 hours of free parking are available in the building.
It's fast, it's fun, and the best thing about it is that you get to pitch to many different people within a short period.
All that you need is your business cards (not compulsory) and your presence.
Typically, you would meet many different people, spending only 2 - 3 minutes with each, and it's a great way to meet others. You speak to the person in front of you, and when the bell rings, you move to your left to speak to the next person. View Video of past events (https://youtu.be/ImZAe4OQ1qg).
This gives you a great chance to network with business owners and decision-makers to find the clients, vendors, and professionals you need most.
**Cost: AED 70 cash** (Includes Coffee, Tea, Soft Drinks or Water)
Remember to tell your friends, colleagues and associates and bring lots of business cards!
How to get there: (VIEW MAP - https://maps.app.goo.gl/3u5DZgQrvJPLrv1U6)
IMPORTANT RULES ON TIMING, NO-SHOWS AND CANCELLATION:
1. Please, be on time, so that we can start promptly at 7.30 pm.
2. If you have never been here before, then arrive early, so that you can find us.
3. If you have RSVP'd as "YES" and then do not show up, you will be removed and banned from this group, as it shows you are not professional enough to be a part of this group. You can easily change the status if you know that you may not make it. This is important as we have to make prior reservations at the venue.
4. People arriving late may not be able to join in if we have already begun, as that ruins the flow and transitions around the tables. By allowing people to join late results in meeting the same person twice and missing out on others, which is unfair for those who arrive on time.

How Ride Share & Food Delivery Sending You Broke
When you move to dubai, you think this is the place I'm going to be able to save finally, but then you get hit with some realities.
Dumb things you do in dubai that drain your bank account.
**Using Careem is by far the dumb expensive option** instead of finding a taxi directly. Every rideshare comes with a steep markup. Bolt is in dubai now at least it's the cheaper alternative.
**BEST OPTION** Consider trying to hail a taxi always, pressing a button on an app is **killing your finances**.
Too lazy to walk to the store, where are you living? You kind of lazy if you can't walk 15 mins to a store, again delivery is expensive, all the food delivery apps put significant markups on food delivery. Why use them??.
Smart things you can do to save money. Change your routine, see apps on your phone as only there to increase cost of living, thats how these businesses operate, if they weren't making money from you why would they exist. And do you even need them - in many cases no.

"The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene, with Joost Elffers, is an exploration of power dynamics through historical and philosophical lenses. It details 48 strategies from secrecy to manipulation, drawing from figures like Machiavelli and Sun Tzu. Each law is exemplified by historical anecdotes, showing both the consequences of ignoring and the benefits of adhering to these principles. The book adopts a morally neutral stance, presenting these laws as universal tools for understanding and navigating power in various life scenarios. While it has stirred ethical debates, its deep dive into human behavior and power strategies has attracted a wide readership.

Hi, my name is Karan. I am the co-founder of the Money Minds community.
When I started investing, I didn't have any help. I've learned how to navigate markets by making a lot of mistakes and I still have a lot to learn. I believe that investing cannot be taught but it can be learned.
My intention behind these Practical Investing Discussions is to cultivate a space where people **ask questions, share practical knowledge** and hopefully **learn vicariously**.
Inspired by Charlie Munger’s wisdom, \*"The best thing a human being can do is to help another human being know more" \*our event fosters a spirit of knowledge-sharing and mutual growth. Expect engaging discussions, fresh perspectives, and opportunities to forge meaningful connections with fellow Money Minds members.

Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
When judging morality, should we prioritize **intentions/duty** or **outcomes/results**? It introduces two influential philosophers as representatives of these approaches.
* **Immanuel Kant (deontology):** An action is moral when it is done from **duty** and follows rational, universal principles (the **categorical imperative**). Certain acts—like lying—are wrong regardless of the consequences; you can’t do a wrong thing for a right reason.
* **John Stuart Mill (utilitarian consequentialism):** The morality of an action is determined by its **effects**, specifically how much **happiness/well-being** it produces. Mill argues that some pleasures are “higher” than others, and that good intentions don’t redeem harmful outcomes.
## Discussion Questions
1. **The lying dilemma:** A murderer comes to your door and asks if your friend is hiding inside. Kant would say you must not lie.
2. **Can good intentions rescue a bad outcome?**
3. **The organ harvest problem:** A surgeon has five patients dying of organ failure and one healthy patient in for a checkup. Killing the one to harvest organs would save five lives, and the math works out for the utilitarian. Why does this feel so deeply wrong? Is that feeling a point in Kant's favor, or just a bias we should overcome?
4. **Do rules need exceptions?** Kant insists moral rules must be universal, with no exceptions. But most of us can imagine extreme scenarios where any rule seems like it should bend. Does the need for exceptions fatally undermine deontology, or is the strength of the system precisely that it refuses to bend?
5. **Who gets to calculate the consequences?** Utilitarianism asks us to maximize good outcomes, but we're notoriously bad at predicting consequences. If we can't reliably know the results of our actions, is it practical to base our entire moral system on outcomes? Does this uncertainty push us back toward rules and principles?
6. **Everyday morality:** Think about a real moral decision you've made recently, even a small one. Did you reason more like a Kantian (what's the right thing to do in principle?) or more like a utilitarian (what will produce the best result?)? Do most people naturally lean one way?
7. **Justice vs. the greater good:** A town can prevent a deadly plague by sacrificing one innocent person. The greater good is clearly served. But is it just? Can an action be morally right and deeply unjust at the same time?
8. **The big synthesis question:** Are these two systems actually opposed, or do they often arrive at the same answers by different paths? Is it possible that we need both: rules to guide us in the moment and consequences to evaluate systems and policies over time?
