Pop Up Gaeltacht
☘️Déanaimid iarracht Pop Up Gaeltacht a dheanamh sa lár i mBaile Átha Cliath. Don't worry if your Irish isn't the best. Tá sé oscailte to gach duine who wants to give irish a go! 🙌 Beidh sé saor in aisce. The event starts at 7pm and we'll place you in the specific Pop Up Gaeltacht groups. You won't miss us, there will be a big sign with "Pop up Gaeltacht" written on it!
Ag tnúth le bualadh libh! ✌️💚
**Cad is Pop-Up Gaeltacht ann?**
Is cruinniú neamhfhoirmiúil é Pop-Up Gaeltacht de chainteoirí Gaeilge ar leibhéil éagsúla (go minic i mbeár) áit ar féidir leo bualadh le chéile agus comhrá a dhéanamh in atmaisféar cairdiúil. I mBaile Átha Cliath is féidir le suas le 300 duine freastal ar chruinnithe mar seo, agus reáchtáladh imeachtaí den chineál céanna thar lear freisin. Tá an bealach isteach saor in aisce agus tá fáilte roimh gach leibhéal.
**What is a Pop Up Gaeltacht?**
A Pop-Up Gaeltacht is an informal gathering of Irish speakers of various abilities (often in a bar) where they can meet and talk in a convivial atmosphere. In Dublin such gatherings can number up to 300 people, and similar events have been held abroad. Entrance is free and all levels are welcome.
**Cé hé Flip Lingoes?**
Eagraímid malartuithe teanga gach seachtain, ach uair sa bhliain eagraímid Pop-Up Gaeltacht chun an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn agus chun tacú léi. Tá Pop-Up Gaeltachtaí eagraithe againn thar lear, agus seo an chéad cheann againn i mBaile Átha Cliath!
Tá súil againn go gcabhróidh sibh linn an Ghaeilge a thabhairt chun beatha — táimid ag tnúth go mór leis! 🇮🇪
**Who is Flip Lingoes?**
We organise weekly language exchanges but once a year we do a Pop Up Gaeltacht to promote and support the Irish language. We have organised PoP up Gaeltacht's abroad and this will be our first one in Dublin! We hope you can help us bring the Irish language to life, we're really looking forward to it!
Royal Hospital Kilmainham Outdoors Guided Tour
The Royal Hospital Kilmainham stands on the site of a seventh-century early Christian settlement, replaced in Norman times with a monastery of the Knights Hospitallers.
The building as we know it today was begun in 1680. Leading architects such as William Robinson, Thomas Burgh and Francis Johnston made it the starting point for Dublin's development into a city of European standing.
Inspired by Les Invalides in Paris, the building was to be a retirement home for old soldiers. Over the next 247 years, thousands of army pensioners lived out their final days within it's walls.
In 1991, the Royal Hospital Kilmainham became home to the Irish Museum of Modern Art. IMMA

6-Week Buddhism Course - Mind, Reactive & Creative
[*** Booking essential - details here ***](https://dublinbuddhistcentre.org/events/mind-reactive-and-creative-five-week-buddhism-course/)
One of the Buddha’s key insights is that our state of mind conditions our thoughts, which in turn condition our actions, and thereby our world.
This course explores the idea that the mind operates in two very different ways, and that the spiritual life is essentially a movement from one to the other. We have the choice of being either reactive or creative, not just once, but at every moment. We investigate just what that means in our own lives, looking at ways in which we can become less reactive and more creative, with a combination of teaching, discussion, meditation and practical exercises.
Starts Wednesday 18th March 2026\, 7\.15pm – 9\.30pm \| For 6 weeks

Meditation, Buddha Dharma and Qi-gong
About us:
The Tibetan Dharma and Meditation Group is part of a Buddhist organisation based in Taiwan, which is centred on one of the greatest living Rinpoches (teachers) in the world at the moment. It aims to introduce people living in Ireland to Buddhist teachings and practices that have been passed to Rinpoche through his masters and their masters going back many, many generations in order to benefit and bring peace to all sentient beings.
Location:
We hold our meetings in the small hall at Sandyford Community Centre, Lambs Cross, Sandyford, Dublin 18.

The film is based on the best-selling novel of The Martian and follows a man who awakens on a spacecraft before realizing his mission to save Earth. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: A science teacher wakes up on a spaceship, light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission to save the Earth. The film is directed by the filmmaking due Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 and 22 Jump Street, Into and Across the Spider-Verse) and is based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir (The Martian). The film stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Lionel Boyce, Milana Vayntrub and Ken Leung.

BUZZ AND REVIEWS: The buzz and reviews for PROJECT HAIL MARY are off-the-charts good! The film is earning a 95% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics call it an “old school blockbuster crowd-pleaser” and “a new sci-fi classic!” It’s “deeply hopeful,” well-acted,” funny,” “dramatic,” and “exceptionally rousing throughout!” Others call it “something truly magical” and one that “we’ll be talking about this one for decades to come!” And I believe Slashfilm says it best: “It will lift up and squeeze your heart, crack you up with laughter, and give you a sense of hope and wonder in a way that few movies have been able to inspire.”

Spring Flex Season
**How does a TennisColumbus Season / League run?**
The league advertises the season dates and builds a queue of committed players for the season.
**Kickoff Day - March 26th**
The start day of the season, players are sent a kickoff email that contains important information about the league, the link where your league standings and players contact information. We guarantee 6 playing partners at your playing level, but have been averaging closer to 15+ partners in most cities. The number of different levels we run is solely based upon the number of players enrolled for the league kickoff. Typically we are running a Skilled-3.0, Competitive-3.5 and Advanced-4.0 in most cities.
**Your Task - "Flexible Scheduling"**
After this kickoff email is sent, it is the **player's task to communicate with other players**. Players should work with their partners to find an agreeable time and location to play the match. While TennisColumbus doesn't mandate your playing schedule, it is recommended that players schedule at least one match per week. By request of the players, we started to allow players to play 1 rematch per season. The regular season is all about playing as much as you can. As of Feb. 10, 2026 we've had an amazing 2,017 players play more than [20 matches in a season](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/info/MatchesInSeason).
**Where to Play?**
Play at your local free tennis courts, tennis parks, condo courts or tennis clubs. The league strongly suggests that players jointly try to pick a tennis court location convenient to both. We provide an extensive list of [tennis courts](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/TennisCourts), including # of courts, lighting, hitting walls, etc. We strive to keep this list up-to-date.
TennisColumbus sets up a must play dates to push players out on the courts. The final deadline is the date marking the end of the season, at which point players with 3-5 wins (Actually total is specified on the division page) will qualify for a post-season playoff to determine the league champion.
**How to Play?**
Players can use three mostly standard playing formats: 2 out of 3 sets, 2 sets with 10 point super tie-breaker or the 10-game pro set (First to 10, used when court time is limited). On Feb. 2018, we added Fast Tennis 4 game pro set format as a valid format.
**Playoffs**
Each season concludes with a playoffs where players with anywhere from 3 to 5 season wins qualifies for a single elimination tourney. The champion is awarded based upon the league [Prize Pool](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/info/prize_pool3). Each singles league champion also receives a playing entry into one of two national championships we run.
**[JOIN TODAY](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/join)**
Full price is $39.95 to play in a season. The earlier you sign up we typically offer discounts during these tough economic times. Just go to the [Join Page](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/join) and complete the short form. We'd be happy to find you dedicated tennis playing partners.
