Southbank Vinyl
We're now meeting each month at the Bear in Camberwell, where great food and drink options are available, and we can get some time on their decks. Come along with a bunch of vinyl you'd like to play and share with us.
This month’s theme is **‘Questions’** where we’ll be exploring the power of the question mark ... **?**
An evening dedicated to those songs that try to answer life’s biggest mysteries, like: -
**Where do broken hearts go?**
**Are friends electric?**
**Should I stay or should I go?**
**What’s the frequency, Kenneth?**
If you can find a song that asks a question, you’ve hit the mark.
Bring it along with a pint and a friend, or just yourself and join us in the search for all of life’s answers.
Grab a drink, enjoy some records. And don't forget to RSVP!

♫ Free MUSIC Walking Tour: From Soho To Beatles House With Music & Drinks
If you love music, fun, and knowledge infused cultural walks with purpose then this will be right up your street! Led by a life long passionate music fan, part-time radio & club DJ, Journalist and Musicologist (me!)- we will walk historic hidden streets to uncover **A Day in the Life** of the Beatles in London!
Yep those four guys from Liverpool who wrote and recorded some of the greatest songs ever conjured. During this epic **Revolution**ary 7 mile British musical adventure through the heart of London - we''ll discover "memories longer than the roads that stretches out ahead" themselves, visit key monumental landmarks encapsulating their time in London including that world famous iconic zebra crossing! Of course I share interesting stories as we relive and hear some of those 227 **Magical Mystery** songs (get your track requests in!) as we take that trip down musical memory lane.
Ironically the tour will commence at the site of their last ever official live performance. We'll then take **The** **Long And Winding Road** down to John's residence, the gallery where he met Yoko, the church where Paul married Linda, the recording studio where **Hey Jude** was recorded, pass Ringo's townhouse where Jimi Hendrix lived and **Eleanor Rigby** was composed and glimpise George Harrison's favourite Indian restaurant in Soho.
Later - with a **Little Help From Our Friend** Gerry Rafferty - we'll pass Baker Street **-** home to the original Apple records and glance nearby landmarks where films like **Hard Day's Night** were shot. Then we''ll swiftly take a relaxing walk passing Lord's cricket ground to those world famous Abbey Road studios where their last few albums were recorded including the ground breaking experimental White LP.
On to Paul's house - we'll pass the **Helter Skelter** cafe, and see lots lots more! And for fellow dedicated followers of fashion (yeah I know it's a song from a rival l band!) - we'll pop into Stella McCartney's fashion boutique to see if she has any **Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Clubs** uniforms in stock
To maximise interactive engagement, fun and music love, I'll dish out random trivia questions (e.g which Beatles song was transmitted by NASA to star system Polaris to initiate alien contact?), jokes and take **song requests** on the way play a few **From Me To You** at key monuments!
Lastly we'll learn the history, meaning and inspiration behind those 227 puzzling **Rock and Roll Music** songs. And if you want to know what a particular song/lyrics was about/meaning - just ask!
Don't worry - no paid **Ticket To Ride** needed to aboard this musical escapade - like all our events - attendance is 100% free - as long as you are genuinely passionate about music (preferably like Beatles music!)
**Medium to Fast Paced Walk / Fitness Test**
Accept for stops at key monuments, this will be a non stop continuous **7 mile** "hike" at a **medium to fast pace** so it's advisable to wear trainers/something comfortable or an **Old Brown Shoe**. Unfortunately, given the large distance that will be covered in a relatively short time frame (2.5 hours) - if you are a slow walker/impaired or not very fit- this event might not be appropriate for you. A quick basic fitness test would be - can you easily run 10 meters fast without any issues?
Lastly - **I Don't Want To Spoil The Party** but the no go decision is obviously weather dependent so let's hope it turns out to be a **Good Day Sunshine**. If any significant or prolonged **Rain** is forecast then we will postpone to a future date.
**The Fool On The Hill** Lucas

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 25 at Streetlight Guild.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
**SCHEDULE:**
6:45ish - Quick introductions
7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
8:00 - The End
**OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
**BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild!
**WHAT SHOULD I BRING?**
Whatever you need to be able to write! You're welcome to bring earplugs/headphones if noise will bother you!
**OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:**
* **RSVP:** Please RSVP by 6:00pm the evening of the meeting. This helps me know how many to expect, and if we'll need additional space!
* **COVID:** While masks are not required, please be mindful of the other writers around you and their comfort levels.
* **WIFI/OUTLETS:** Outlets are limited, so please ensure your devices are charged when you come! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay!

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
Contra dance March 21 (First Unitarian Universalist Church) note new time!
# **Band and caller TBA**
Beginner lesson at 1:30, regular dancing begins at 2:00 pm
NOTE THAT WE ARE TEMPORARILY DANCING IN THE AFTERNOON INSTEAD OF EVENING. Dance with us in the afternoon then you can still go out in the evening!
**Sponsor: All Soles Contra and Square Dancing, First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus OH 43214**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 1:30 - 2:00, followed by dancing 2:00 - 430. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
