🚌 **What?** A weekend group trip from *Baden* to *Strasbourg (France)* ! Ride the train to/from there together while drinking wine, stroll around the city's old district and gardens, practice your French (or fake accent) at the local brasseries, join a group wine-tasting & demolish breakfast buffets! The travel packages we can get include 2-night stays in double-rooms at a local hotel with breakfast & a wine-tasting. Read below for details! **⚙️ How does it work?** We have gotten a certain number of double-room packages in Strasbourg, with breakfast and a wine tasting. You can claim one of the remaining spots by joining the WhatsApp and/or writing to the organizers. The train ride to/from Strasbourg is *not* included (you would have to pay for that separately). **💰 Cost** The travel package including the aforementioned things costs 69.50 CHF per person, not including the trip to/from Strasbourg. **🛌🏼 Rooms** There are currently 1 bed in a male room, 1 bed in a female room, and 2 beds in a free room. See ya **When:** We'll meet at 13:50 to start at 14:00. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. bot on weekends it may be more. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups. El idioma... El suizo creo que lo entiendo un 30%... o bueno un 20% si hablan con muchas ggrgrgr. Pero con el aleman me defiendo. Y si no, en inglés. Y si no en español que muchas personas aqui ven novelas hispanas en la tele o han estado 2 meses en Buenos Aires o Madrid y te entienden perfectamente. Y si no por señas! Que al final te haces una experta en lenguaje corporal y no hace falta ni hablar! 😂 Bromas aparte, me habria gustado aprender mas rápido todo lo bueno que tiene este pais para ofrecer. Join us for a tour of Brothers Drake Meadery in Grandview, hosted by the owner Oron Benary. He will explain the mead-making process and offer us generous samples of their fine meads. Mead is basically wine that is made from honey instead of grapes. There are many different flavors that range from dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, to sweet. They are best known for their Apple Pie Mead. Oron has offered us a special price of 5.00 each person for the tour and tasting, which is normally 25.00 per person. I've taken the tour several times, and it's always enlightening and fun. Rebecca will bring a tea that will pair well with the mead for a tea tasting afterwards. Park anywhere around the building. Please avoid parking in front of the houses in the neighborhood behind the Meadery. Please keep your RSVP current. Knowing how many will attend will help Brothers Drake plan accordingly to accommodate us.

5th annual Earth Day Celebration! This year (2026) the Celebration is scheduled for April 25th with activities running from 10am-2pm. This is a non-ticketed event. Everyone is welcome! Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Free Communal Garden Class Series GROWING MUSHROOMS In this class, we will discuss how to raise mushrooms on logs outdoors as a way to raise food in parts of your yard that are usually too shady to grow vegetables or other crops. We will discuss what mushroom species can be cultivated, what tree species they can grow on, and demonstrate how to prepare and inoculate the logs. By following these steps, you can have your own bountiful mushroom harvest!
