Bridging the Implementation Gap in AI for Stroke Interventions
**Join us for our next Machine Learning in Healthcare meetup in Berlin — proudly sponsored by the QUEST Centre!**
Pizza is still back!
We are very happy to announce our speaker **Frank te Nijenhuis**, who is a PhD candidate at the ICAI Stroke Lab at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. With a background in medicine and computer science, he develops deep‑learning models to support real‑time clinical decision-making during stroke treatment.
**His talk´s title is:**
**Bridging the Implementation Gap in AI for Stroke Interventions: Challenges and Opportunities**
**Abstract:** In recent years, rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have led to a proliferation of AI models in medical imaging. However, despite promising performance in research settings, many of these models have yet to translate into meaningful clinical impact.
In this talk, Frank will highlight several AI models developed for stroke imaging and examine the barriers that hinder their implementation in clinical practice. He will explore potential pathways to overcome these challenges and conclude with an interactive discussion on co-creation as a strategy to bridge the gap between innovation and real-world adoption.

Get feedback on your music while you can still incorporate it into the final version. Or perhaps find a collaborator to help you finish the song?
We grow as artists when we're willing to be vulnerable, set aside our ego and perfectionism, and learn from one another.
Bring *only* demos, sketches, loops, rough arrangements, works in progress, or nearly-finished tracks — all genres and experience levels welcome.
You can register to share some music here:

Tabletennis at Lietzenseepark
Looking for a relaxed way to play table tennis after work?
Then feel free to join us!
We meet every Thursday from around 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (18:30 - 20:30) at the table tennis tables at Lietzensee.
Everyone is welcome – whether you are a beginner, casual player, or experienced. You are also welcome to bring friends along.
The focus is on having fun, getting some movement outdoors, and meeting new people. Just show up and join in!
## How we play
Usually, we have at least two tables available, as long as they are not already taken. Depending on the number of people and the mood, we either play casual matches, 1-on-1 games across two tables, or small friendly tournaments. This way, there is usually something for everyone.
## Good to know
* Everyone is welcome.
* Friends and acquaintances are welcome to join.
* Please bring your own paddle if possible.
* If you don’t have one, no problem – I will bring a few extra paddles that can be borrowed.
* The group is loosely organized – feel free to just show up and play.
* As we play outdoors, we are dependent on the weather. In case of heavy rain or other unsuitable weather conditions, the event may have to be cancelled. Any updates will be shared via Meetup and the WhatsApp group
* To make communication easier, there is a WhatsApp group. It is recommended to join if you plan to attend more regularly. This way we can easily share updates, changes, or spontaneous information. If you no longer want to participate, you can leave the group at any time.
If you signed up but cannot make it, please let us know briefly so we can plan accordingly.
**Deinen Arbeitsplatz zeigen – optional**
* **20:00 Uhr** – Ankommen und kurzer Technik-Check
(Ton, Bild, Bildschirmfreigabe)
* Kurze Vorstellungsrunde:
Woran arbeitest du gerade? Wo brauchst du vielleicht Hilfe?
* Danach freies Nähen, Austausch und Fragen zwischendurch
* Offenes Ende – wenn du müde wirst, kannst du einfach gehen
**Wichtig**
**Technik-Hinweise**
* Wir treffen uns in einem Discord-Sprachkanal, auf Wunsch auch mit Video
* Wenn du deinen Arbeitsplatz zeigen möchtest, funktioniert die Kombination aus Handy und Laptop meist am besten
* Bitte schalte eines der Mikrofone stumm, damit es kein Echo gibt
* Kopfhörer sind empfehlenswert
* Bildschirmfreigabe klappt meistens am besten in der Discord-Desktop-App, im Browser kann es Einschränkungen geben.
**Zeit**
**Donnerstag, 20:00 Uhr**
**Discord-Zugang**
Den Discord-Link bzw. die Kanalinfos poste ich kurz vor Beginn direkt im Event. Er ist für angemeldete Teilnehmende sichtbar.

Berlin Color Hunt Photo Challenge
Hello challengers,
For those who missed last month’s incredibly popular Trend Color Hunt Challenge, I’ll be hosting the workshop again due to high demand. In this workshop, we’ll go beyond simply taking photos, we’ll train your eye to see color with intention and use it as a powerful storytelling tool.
Instead of focusing on subjects alone, this challenge invites you to explore Berlin through a single lens: **color**.
You’ll be split into small groups and assigned a specific color. Your mission is to hunt for it, frame it, and bring it to life through a series of images. By the end, each group will become the storyteller of their color across the city.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to use color not just as an aesthetic, but as a way to guide attention, create emotion, and build stronger compositions.
Learn to see, compose, and tell stories through color using contrast, simplicity, and creative interpretation.
🧠 **How the Challenge Works**
* You’ll be split into groups of **2–3 people**
* Each group is assigned **one color**
* You’ll have **\~60 minutes** to explore and shoot
* Your goal: capture a small series of images that represent your color in Berlin
**A Social Experience**
As much as this is a photography group, it’s about connection and community.
Within your group, you’ll collaborate, explore, and share perspectives. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, this is a space to meet creatives that can learn from each other.
🎒 **What to Bring**
• Your Camera – DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphones are allowed
• Comfortable Clothing – We’ll be walking and exploring
• Curiosity and open mindedness – Be ready to observe differently and go out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself!
I’ll also compile the results into curated series like:
**“Berlin in Red” \| “Berlin in Green” \| “Berlin in Blue”**
Selected photos will be featured on our Instagram community.
💸 **Cost**
**€10** – collected after the session or pre-pay via PayPal to secure your spot. Maximum limit of 55 participants.
🌱 **Why Join?**
✅ Experience Berlin in a completely new way
✅ Learn how to use color as a storytelling tool
✅ Build confidence shooting in real environments

Filmmakers & Movie Nerds Meetup #184
Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) ♥️
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. It’s important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*

The Completely Series
These meetings will be a building block approach to learning photographic mastery over three disciplines:
Mechanical Mastery (MM) - 13 weeks of the series
Exposure Mastery (EM) - 26 weeks of the series
Composition Mastery (CM) - A 52 week series
All three series will run concurrently and will dovetail as follows:
Q3/26 - MM (Iter 1), EM (Iter 1, Pt 1), CM (Iter 1, Pt1)
Q4/26 - MM (Iter 2), EM (Iter 1, Pt 2), CM (Iter 1, Pt2)
Q1/27 - MM (Iter 3), EM (Iter 2, Pt 1), CM (Iter 1, Pt3)
Q2/27 - MM (Iter 4), EM (Iter 2, Pt 2), CM (Iter 1, Pt4)
That's likely confusing, but essentially, MM offered 4 times in that period, EM offered 2 times, and CM offered 1 time.
**TO BE CLEAR - THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THESE CLASSES.**
This is an aggressive series, with presentations, homework, group shoots to be added in, likely at LEAST twice a month, image critiques, and an expectation that you are willing to put in the work to elevate your photography significantly. Open to all levels and all equipment levels. Don't let hesitation about your skillset and/or gear keep you from a one-time opportunity.
The group will meet every Monday, with periodic exceptions, and we will try to keep as close as possible to the original plan. Obviously, more data to come, and will be published as this is further developed, but now is the time to decide if you want to be a part of this.
Bondage Photography Demonstration
**The event has been canceled.**
*Note: this is a demonstration event only, you **will not** shoot you own images. However, if you bring your camera we can test it for compatibility with the studio lights.*
Bondage elements can add an extra layer of emotion and artistry to your images. Sample images on the internet are however dominated by BDSM style shots that are often sexualized and emphasize the model being in distress. In this demonstration Rachel and I show ways to use bondage elements in an artistic way. We explore the types of accessories that work best in artistic images and the best way to photograph them.
Our model is Rachel Adams, an internationally known fetish model with many years of experience in this genre.

Losing Weight in Columbus - Saturday morning Metro Park at Scioto Audubon Park
Join the weight loss in Columbus group at the Scioto Audubon Park for an in person meeting. We'll meet to chat casually, talk about goals and enjoy one of Columbus's wonderful parks.
We'll meet at one of the outdoor shelters, which is covered in case of rain, is close to some walking trails, and there's also a climbing gym that people can try out (my favorite past time) if people are interested.
Let's meet and see where we can take things!
