Walk length 4miles/6km approx. Linear. A short evening stroll along the Southbank to Canary Wharf. There are a large number of features but some highlights to see along this short stretch of the Thames are the scenic views towards the Tower of London, London Bridge and Wapping. We can have some optional drinks at the Ledger Building a former docks building and now a classy pub. FREE WALK TONIGHT. Meeting and Transport Meet outside the entrance to London Bridge Station along Tooley street and close to the Shipwrights Arms (see picture above) from 6.15pm to start at 6.30pm. The walk follows the river East before crossing Tower Bridge to walk on the north side of the Thames to Canary Wharf. Walking Safety: Walking is a great way to keep fit and generally very safe; however it does contain an element of risk. Before going on any of these walks you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared to be responsible for your own safety. You must wear appropriate clothing such as proper walking shoes, warm and wet weather clothing and carry sufficient food and water. **Back by popular demand, on Friday 27th March we’re excited to be hosting our latest Drink & Do Night!** But for this one - instead of our usual paint and pottery, we’ll be teaming up with Something Good Workshops for a **Mixed Media Cyanotype Workshop,** exclusively for our community 🎨 If you’ve never tried cyanotype before, it’s a famous print making technique that creates distinctive deep blue artworks that you may have seen in galleries or design markets. The evening will start with a relaxed introduction where the workshop team will walk us through the process and materials. You’ll then design your own A6 artwork using a mix of bold materials like plants, tape, drawings and lettering, layering everything onto acetate to build your composition **🌿** Once you're happy with your design, they'll then place your image onto light-sensitive paper and expose it using specialist lighting, to reveal your finished cyanotype artwork. It should be a fun new experience and throughout the evening - there will be a bar open, so you can grab drinks and build some new connections - as you create your piece. This 2 mile walk starts at 11;00am at Borough Market to get shots before it gets too busy. We'll then go to The Mudlark pub for some refreshment and chat around 12:00. At 1:00pm we'll proceed South East through Bermondsey to walk through Maltby Road Market before heading North East to walk along Shad Thames to Tower Bridge where it ends. I'll be taking this opportunity to try out some of my Kodak Double-X film for some Street photography. I'd advise a fast film as it may be a dull day. You are welcome to either do the full walk starting at 10am or join us for the second half at 1:00pm. We will start the second half at the same location as the 10:00am start.
