AI-Assisted Vulnerability Research: Building a Binary Audit Agent
**AI-Assisted Vulnerability Research: Building a Binary Audit Agent - kdz**
Vulnerability research on closed-source binaries is slow, specialist work. It means pulling an executable into a disassembler, recovering its structure by hand, tracing attacker-controlled data flows, and proving that suspicious code fragments are reachable and exploitable. What if an AI agent could help drive that entire pipeline?
This talk walks through my attempt to design such an agent using a custom Claude Code plugin (very much a work in progress and a learning opportunity for me). The agent orchestrates a workflow that follows a target end to end: QA'ing the decompilation, sweeping for dangerous code, reasoning over the code to build a whole-binary flow map that traces attacker-controlled input through to dangerous operations, and then attempting to craft and verify a payload that actually triggers the bug.

Winter Wonderlights at Sovereign Hill: Ballarat Day Trip by Train
Join me for a full day trip out to Ballarat for Sovereign Hill's Winter Wonderlights, the much loved Christmas-in-July celebration. We'll catch the V/Line out together, spend the day wandering the historic gold-rush township, and stay on as it gets dark for the main event.
By day you can explore Main Street, watch the foam snow fall, try gold panning, catch the live shows and soak up the festive atmosphere. Then once the sun goes down, Sovereign Hill lights up with large-scale projections, music and a wintry glow. Sovereign Hill says the lights kick off around 5:45pm and run through to 7:00pm on a day ticket.
The plan: we'll meet at Southern Cross in the morning, take the V/Line to Ballarat, hop on a local bus to Sovereign Hill, explore all day, watch the evening lights, then head back by train. It's a long but lovely day out.
One important thing up front: this is a Sovereign Hill event, not one of ours. You'll need to book your own day ticket directly with them, and an RSVP here does not include entry.
**Who this is for**
* Anyone who loves a festive, atmospheric day out. It's family-friendly and suits all ages.
* Solo attendees are very welcome. We travel together and catch up through the day, so it's an easy one to come along to on your own.
* Happy walkers. There's a fair bit of walking on uneven (sometimes muddy) ground, and it's a long day from morning to night.

* Related video: [https://vimeo.com/1183603231](https://vimeo.com/1183603231)
**Timeline**
* 8:10am: Meet at V/Line Tickets and Information (Southern Cross) and say hi
* 8:20am: Head to the platform and grab seats together
* 8:35am: V/Line departs for Ballarat
* 10:01am: Arrive at Ballarat Railway Station
* 10:20am: Catch the bus towards Sovereign Hill
* Around 10:30am: Arrive at Sovereign Hill
* 10:30am to 7:00pm: Explore Sovereign Hill, then stay on for the evening lights from around 5:45pm
* 7:54pm: Bus back to Ballarat Station
* 8:19pm: V/Line back to Southern Cross
* Around 9:55pm: Arrive at Southern Cross and the meetup wraps up
**Tickets / cost**
* You'll need your own Sovereign Hill day ticket (10am to 7pm), which covers the full day plus the evening lights.
* Please book in advance via the link above. Sovereign Hill notes that Winter Wonderlights can sell out on busy days, especially weekends, so book early to avoid missing out.
* For the trip itself, bring a topped-up Myki.
* The Ballarat line takes Myki (touch on and off), and you'll also need it for the local bus in Ballarat.
**Transport**
We're travelling by V/Line train from Southern Cross to Ballarat Station, then a short local bus to Sovereign Hill. Please double-check the exact bus route and times on the PTV app on the day, particularly the evening return bus, as Saturday night services can be limited.
**Bring**
* Warm layers, a good jacket, and a beanie and gloves (Sovereign Hill notes Ballarat averages around 10°C in July, and it's colder after dark)
* Comfortable, practical, water-resistant footwear (some ground is uneven and can be muddy)
* A topped-up Myki
* Your phone or camera for the lights
* Your booked Sovereign Hill ticket, saved or downloaded ready to show
**Expect**
* Difficulty: easy, but a long day on your feet
* Pace: relaxed and self-guided once we arrive
* Vibe: festive, cosy, Christmas-in-July magic
* Group style: we travel together and meet up through the day, and you're free to wander at your own pace in between
**Important notes**
* This is a casual social meetup arranged so we can head to Winter Wonderlights together. It isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Sovereign Hill. Please book your own ticket directly with them, as an RSVP here doesn't include entry.
* The lights go ahead rain, hail or shine, so dress for the cold and a bit of weather.
* Heads up that the "snow" is foam snow, not the real thing.
* This is a long day with independent train and bus travel. Please look after yourself, follow Sovereign Hill's rules and any staff instructions, and keep an eye on the time so we make the return bus and train. You're coming along at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and wellbeing on the day.
* If your plans change, please update your RSVP so our numbers stay clear.

Practising Group Conversations: A Structured Social Skills Meetup
# 🌟 *Breat Procrastination and Staring at The Crowd When at Social Events with Taking a Minimum Viable Step!*
Do you want to feel confident stepping into group conversations, knowing exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to build momentum naturally?
Do you want a clear structure that makes socialising feel *doable*, while still allowing real, organic, human connection?
This session blends **structure with spontaneity**, so you can practise social confidence in a way that actually works for your brain.
# 💬 WHAT THIS SESSION IS ABOUT
This is a **guided practice lab** for group interaction.
Instead of guessing what to say, you will work with:
• specific topics chosen by the group on the day
• simple, powerful questions to guide conversation
• structured rounds that make it easier to start and continue interactions
You are not performing or “being social” on command, you are learning a **repeatable process** that helps you enter conversations naturally and build depth from there.
The structure gives you clarity.
Your responses stay *real, personal, and fully your own.*
# 🧠 WHY THIS WORKS
## *Minimum Viable Steps (MVS)*
Starting conversations is often the hardest part.
So instead of forcing yourself to “be social”, we focus on:
### *Minimum Viable Steps (MVS)*
Small, achievable actions like:
• approaching a group
• listening for context
• asking one simple question
• sharing one small response
These steps reduce overwhelm and help you build momentum naturally.
You are not powering through, you are **following a chain of small wins** that lead into flow.
# 🔄 HOW THE SESSION RUNS
This session is structured into **timed rounds (approx. 8 minutes each)**.
Each round gives you a clear, simple objective.
## 🔹 *Structured Group Rounds*
• You will begin in small groups with a defined topic
• Each round includes suggested questions to guide interaction
• You are free to respond in your own way, nothing scripted
## 🔹 *Rotations*
At the end of each round:
• two people rotate out of each group
• each joins a different group
This creates:
• clarity on where to go next
• repeated practice starting new conversations
• exposure to different dynamics and people
*No guessing. No awkward hovering. Just clear next steps.*
# 💡 TOPICS & QUESTIONS
At the start of the session, we will:
• gather topics participants are genuinely interested in
• write them down and use them throughout the rounds
Each round will include **simple, open questions** related to the topic, designed to:
• spark conversation easily
• create direction without rigidity
• allow natural sharing and depth
You follow the structure, but what you share is always your own.
# 🌱 WHAT YOU WILL PRACTISE
• starting conversations decisively (again and again)
• entering groups with clarity instead of hesitation
• listening before contributing
• asking simple questions that open conversation
• building flow through small, manageable steps
• rotating between groups with confidence
• staying present without overwhelm
Over time, this becomes **automatic**.
# 📝 BEFORE & AFTER
At the beginning:
• you will complete a short reflection on meaningful connection in your life
At the end:
• you will share what worked, what did not, and what could be improved
This helps shape future sessions based on what actually supports you.
# 👋 A NOTE FROM THE FACILITATOR
This is not about being the most confident person in the room.
It is about learning a structure that helps you:
• take action
• reduce overwhelm
• build real connection step by step
You do not need to get it perfect.
##*** You just need to take the next small step.***

Introduction to Guided Drawing
Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness.
The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process.
Testimonial from previous participants who have generously given me permission to share:
"I am so very grateful for the session we had today. The explanation of what to do, how to connect with my body and examples of how to express myself and tap into my own feelings, made the session feel so aligned to exactly what I needed. I felt very safe and secure in your presence to look inwards and pull the processing of my feelings into my hands, wrists, arms and shoulders as my emotions ran through them and into the pastels you supplied. I felt safe to cry as I searched inwards to feel how my body was storing stress and pain, and pull it out onto the page, to self sooth with the sound of the pastels scraping along the page, my hands alchemising my wounded self into reassurance and calmness. The space you held for me, your gentle encouragement and your kind guidance are so truly special and I literally feel unloaded after our session. I feel like I can breathe easier. Thank you for showing me this strategy to connecting and soothing myself, I'll be using this process again and again." - Trish
"Xeia's guided drawing workshop is an invitation to see yourself from an alternative perspective. Through the exploration Xeia facilitated, I was able to shine light on the connection between my body and my emotional reality. At times, the process felt like an opening - giving me permission to access profound truths about myself. It was both grounding and exciting, and I left with a deeper awareness that I know will continue to shape both my personal life and my artistic practice." - Jack
“Before starting, I was hesitant; I didn’t think it would “work” for me especially because I don’t draw much. Then, the experience began, and I felt tension in my throat, as I often hold back tears. So, I let them flow onto the paper. I found a certain sensuality in the touch of the paper, as if I were caressing soft skin. I loved the surprise of discovering my drawings after keeping my eyes closed. By the end, both my body and mind were relaxed, free from the weight of the day. I have no idea how long it lasted; I completely lost track of time.” - Agathe
**Note:**
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so we can start promptly. Doors 10 minutes after the start time :)
Please type in CONCESSION if you are facing financial hardship for a discounted $25 ticket. Please email me at greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com if that is still difficult- no one will be turned away.

American Sign Language Beginners Meetup Group
We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able!
Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! Each meetup will explore different topics related to ASL/Deaf culture, and will feature time to practice conversation with one another. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!
(Cross-Posting) From Joints to Gestures: Reading Hands in Unity
Do **NOT** sign up to this one and sign-up at https://www.meetup.com/columbusjs/events/313386504/
=======================================
A hand tracker gives you joints, not a gesture.
This talk shows how you get from raw joints to a "thumbs-up" in Unity: the pipeline that cleans up the data, how a gesture becomes a few 0-to-1 values within tolerance, and why orientation matters as much as finger shape.
Includes a live demo of tuning gesture thresholds.
Food and drinks will be available.
**LOCATION:**
6515 Longshore Loop, Suite 300, Dublin, OH 43017
**FREE PARKING:**
