Lazy Hike: Coffee → Cable Car → Medvednica Walk & Lunch
Let’s take a little Sunday escape from the city and enjoy some fresh mountain air together.
If the weather cooperates, we’ll organise a relaxed **open-air meetup on Sljeme**, combining coffee, a cable-car ride, a gentle walk through the forest, and lunch at a mountain lodge.
This is a **very easy hike**, suitable for almost everyone, the walk is mostly flat with only a few small uphill or downhill sections.
***
## ☕ Step 1 – Coffee Meetup
We start the day with a relaxed coffee gathering:
📍 **[Dr. Who Café](https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/2087441298235509/caffe-bar-drwho/)**
🕚 **11:00 – 12:00**
If you prefer to skip coffee, you can simply join us at the cable car.
***
## 🚡 Step 2 – Cable Car Ride
📍 **[Sljeme Cable Car](https://www.zicarasljeme.hr/) Base Station**
🕧 **12:30**
From there we’ll take the cable car up the mountain and **exit at the Brestovac station** (the penultimate stop).
***
## 🥾 Step 3 – Easy Walk
From Brestovac we’ll walk **less than one hour** to the mountain lodge **Runolist**.
The path is scenic and mostly flat, making it perfect for conversation and enjoying nature.
***
## 🍲 Step 4 – Lunch at Runolist Lodge
[Runolist](https://runolistsljeme.com/) has a small cantina where we can have lunch together.
Typical meals cost roughly **10–20€**.
After lunch we’ll walk back the same way and return to the city.
Expected arrival back in Zagreb: **around 17:00 (5pm)**.
***
## 💳 Cable Car Tickets
🚡 **Free** for Zagreb residents with an ID showing Zagreb domicile
🚡 About **10€ return** for others
***
## 🌦️ Weather Note
This meetup is **weather dependent**.
If the weather turns bad, we will simply keep the **coffee meetup at Dr. Who** and skip the mountain trip.
Please **check the [WhatsApp group](https://sites.google.com/view/smallfridayinternationalzagreb/faq/sfiz-whatsapp-guide-keeping-it-fun-and-respectful) on Sunday morning** for the final confirmation.

Algorithmic Trading & Crypto
## (Lesson 2)
## What to expect
Project Equilibrium is an in-person introduction to disciplined, rule-based trading automation. This first event is designed to be clear, practical, and approachable no hype, no pressure, and no prior technical background required.
### Why we meet (two-session structure)
This meetup is structured as **two lessons**:
**Lesson 1 — The “Why” (mindset + framework)**
* What Project Equilibrium is (and what it is not)
* Why we focus on process, rules, and execution discipline
* What “24/7 execution” means in practice
* Q&A and open discussion
**Lesson 2 — The “How” (step-by-step setup)**
* A simple walkthrough of the basic tools you need
* Step-by-step guidance to install and prepare the required exchange apps/accounts
* A clear checklist to be ready for future sessions
(You won’t be left alone—everything is explained calmly and in order.)
### What to bring
To make the second lesson smooth, please bring:
* **A smartphone** (for authentication and exchange app setup)
* **A laptop** (for the setup steps and configuration)
If you only have one device, you can still join Lesson 1. The setup lesson is simply easier with both.
### Who this is for
* People curious about algorithmic execution and portfolio discipline
* Beginners who want a structured approach
* Experienced traders who want more consistency and less stress
### Agenda
* Welcome + introductions
* Lesson focus of the day (Why / How)
* Guided walkthrough (where applicable)
* Q&A + next steps
### How to find the group
* Arrive a few minutes early and look for the **Project Equilibrium** group.
* I will be there to welcome attendees if you’re unsure, simply ask the venue staff for the Meetup group name.

Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association:
They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape — and practical ways to get involved.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

Sip & Read: *Founder Edition* Meetup: Book/Venue TBD
Calling all founders, CEOs, lawyers, doctors, and entrepreneurs to join our special *Founder Edition* of Sip & Read meetup event. Let's sip on fine wine and discuss our first book **The 5AM Club- Own Your Morning Elevate Your Life, by Robin Sharma**. We will pair this book with our favorite wine at **Wine on High** and engage in thought-provoking discussions on startup businesses and entrepreneurship, and network with like-minded individuals in a cozy book club setting.
Come prepared to discuss this month's book. At the end of each book club meeting, we will take next book and venue suggestions from the participants for the next meeting.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together. Sign up now to reserve your spot!
*Fun fact! This meetup was established in 2015 and had over 1,000 members. I had to shut down operations while attending law school, but we're back!!*
Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels. Hope to see you on March 28th!

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
