✨SPECIAL EVENT✨What does leadership & innovation look like in this moment?
✨SPECIAL EVENT✨What does leadership & innovation look like in this moment?
**✨ SPECIAL EVENT✨ What does design leadership and innovation look like in this moment? - with Adam StJohn Lawrence** *\*\* Highly acclaimed international guest speaker and global thought leader\*\** Organisations today are under increasing pressure. Expectations are shifting, complexity is rising, and AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday work. At the same time, the more technology advances, the more distinctly human capabilities like judgment, facilitation, collaboration, and meaning-making are coming into focus. What does design leadership and innovation look like in this moment at the interface of human, technology (AI) and business? How can designers not only protect their craft but continue to influence decision-makers to stay the course and make human-centred decisions? Join Adam StJohn Lawrence for an interactive evening with the MelbourneDT community, exploring how we work at the intersection of humans, technology, and business in a time of ongoing transformation. **This is not a traditional talk**. Expect an active, engaging session in Adam’s distinctive style, combining participation, reflection, and open discussion. The focus is on making design matter in real organisational contexts. **Together, explore:** ✨ How to position design, innovation, and facilitation in ways that resonate in today’s business environment ✨ The language we use to communicate value and influence decisions ✨ The evolving role of facilitation as systems become more complex ✨ What changes when we begin working not only with humans but alongside AI **About Adam StJohn Lawrence** ✨ Adam StJohn Lawrence is the co-author of the best-selling book "This is Service Design Doing" and co-initiator of the Global Service Jam. Named the Godfather of facilitation, Adam is one of the founding voices of Service Design and Design Thinking globally. *He's kind of a big deal.* Adam is no ordinary facilitator. His background spans psychology, the automotive industry, and professional theatre and comedy. Improvisation and rehearsal-room practice are central influences in his work, not as performance but as disciplined ways of working with uncertainty, emotion, status and collaboration. Much of Adam’s work takes place under real pressure, with ambiguity, competing agendas and difficult conversations present in the room, and he brings this wealth of real-world experience to his workshop sessions. He shows you how to work with status and egos, conflict, uncertainty and shifting power dynamics in real-life situations with real people, that you can transfer and apply in your next meeting. What Adam teaches you is that "strategy" is not a separate conversation, held behind closed doors or in PowerPoint slides. Rather, it's expressed through behaviour, through how people listen, challenge, decide and create together. He shows you how to "see it" in action and influence the strategic process not matter what level you're at. **Who is this for?** Everyone. Tickets limited. Book fast. Pizza & drinks included!

AI & Society Melbourne | From Pilot to Proof
AI & Society Melbourne | From Pilot to Proof
Most organisations have *tried* AI. Fewer have made it stick. In 2026, the conversation has shifted. We're past the hype, past the demos, and now facing the harder question: why do so many AI projects stall after the pilot — and what does it actually take to go from proof-of-concept to real, measurable impact? *** **About the Event** AI & Society is a community of 3,000+ members across Australia — bringing together business leaders, technologists, city builders, and curious minds to explore how AI is reshaping the way we work, decide, and live. We're back in Melbourne (finally!) for a workshop session designed to cut through the noise and get practical. *** **What We'll Explore** * Why AI pilots fail to scale — and the patterns behind it * What "AI readiness" actually looks like inside an organisation * The human, cultural, and structural barriers nobody talks about * Practical frameworks you can take back to your team on Monday *** **Who Should Come** Business leaders, project managers, consultants, strategists, and anyone navigating AI adoption in their organisation. No technical background required — curiosity is the only prerequisite. *** *Doors open for networking. Drinks and good conversation included.* *Spots are limited — grab yours early.*

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and science—using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers.
