This is a studio based long pose life drawing and painting session. We have a nude model for two hours in a single pose to give you time to complete a finished drawing or to paint the figure. You are welcome to draw or paint in oils or wet media. Our studio is purpose built and well equipped with easels, drawing boards, clips and so on. We sell materials at reasonable prices so if you forget anything we should be able to help you out. We have professional lighting for the models and full spectrum lights for the studio to give you a good experience. You can expect a friendly introduction to the sport, but in all honesty you will dive in at the deep end to learn UWR. Please bring swimwear and an open mind and expectation to have fun. We can lend an UWR hat, snorkle, mask and fins. Although if you have them already it is better to bring your own. Expect to swim, dive to 4m depth, hold your breath longer than you thought you could, be involved in drills and games. It is full contact and you will be wrestling other players to take the ball and pass to your team or score a goal. This is just a studio session, with no Zoom. We will have a life model in the same pose for three hours in the afternoon, usually for two consecutive weeks. This is an untutored session run by a professional painter who will always be happy to give advice. Other than model breaks, usually every 25 minutes, we break for tea and cake at 3.30pm for twenty minutes. Our studio is divided up into workstations or ‘positions’ and whilst each position has a good view of the model many artists prefer to be front and centre. (Actually, you often get a more interesting composition to the side of the room). You can also just turn up at the studio on spec and find a place to paint.
