Alternative Friday Night is a relaxed, alcohol-free evening for under-30s who want a different way to spend their Friday night. Instead of drinking and partying, we come together for storytelling, music, and meaningful conversation in a warm, welcoming space. If you’re aged 18–30 and looking to connect with others, share ideas, listen deeply, or express yourself creatively, this evening is for you. No experience with Buddhism is required — just an openness to conversation and connection. Join us at the Dublin Buddhist Centre for an informal night of music, stories, and conversations that matter. Alternative Friday Night runs once a month on a Friday evening. Come as you are, bring a friend, or just drop in and see what unfolds. This event is beginner Friendly. More experienced players are still free to come along. I will explain the rules before the first game at 7:15 so please arrive on time if you're new. The rules may be different than other versions of mafia that you played. There is limited capacity so we can't accept every RSVP request. Join us for a swim at Seapoint on Sunday, 12p.m. Regulars and newcomers are welcome to join us. You can have the option to swim, paddle around and have a chat, or just dip your toes, the choice is yours. We recommend that you don't stay in the water too long as it is still quite cold this time of year, and stay within your debt - we look out for each other but we are not lifeguards. And remember to bring warm clothes for after the swim.. **We meet at the Lifeguard hut on Brightonvale road, or if it's raining we will meet at the shelters.** Afterwards we usually go for a coffee at cafe du journel - join us if you want to, the option is yours. Our free-of-charge meet-up in the Black Sheep Pub on Capel Street. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. The meet-up runs for the whole day but late comers always welcome, you just may have to wait a little for a game to open up but games will be starting and ending throughout the day. **IMPORTANT!** **The meet up is free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Join us for a cycle to the lovely village of **Enniskerry**, then back to Dublin along the scenic **Glencree**, valley, then over the **Featherbeds**,and back down in Dublin at Rathfarnham. **Level of difficulty**: 60km, 710m climbing NOTE: We will be keeping an even pace on this cycle. Here is our plan for the day. 1️⃣ We leave from Cafe Nero at 930am 2️⃣Cycle out to Eniskerry where we stop for coffee 3️⃣ Continue to Glencree, over the Featherbeds, and back to Rathfarnham 4️⃣ All going well we should be back in the city by 1:30 Please wear a helmet and bring a tube, etc, in case you get a puncture. Joins us for a 3 mile hike this Friday evening along the beautiful Alum Creek Trail. This fully paved trail is pretty flat and winds along Alum Creek. We will travel 1.5 miles south along the trail to a scenic bridge before turning around. Hope to see you Friday!
